Thanks for the talk Professor Peter, specially appreciate your time and effort in studying China. Honestly that I don't think some of the comments are fair for China and it almost seems using western lens to look at it. I would expect this coming more from academic angle to facilitate the discussion, otherwise, it has no different from any social media forum. And positive energy are desperately needed to bring the east and the west together united as the same race to defend the unknowns. Though politicians are the minority, they could influence the public thinking, and this exists in every country, or some might call it "propaganda". What really matters are what the general public truly think and perceive of those messages, that is also why I want to express how I truly feel about this "Lecture" here. I recently learnt that Professor Michael Wood was telling story of DuFu through BBC, which was great effort to help the west to understand China's history a bit better, from his own words, he hope more Chinese students would continue studying in the UK, in Manchester.
