That three Music Department Presidents gather under the same roof. I think this is the first time we saw Professor Iris Stevenson at any Convention or Convocation since Judith McAllister became the President almost 8 years ago.

I could be wrong, and if I am somebody please correct me, for what I know, when a Presiding Bishop become leader of the COGIC, they sometimes put in their own people to be in charge of different COGIC departments. And sometimes when people get replace hurt feelings comes with that, so this was a reunion of current and former Music Department Presidents coming together to praise the lord. I could be wrong, but I believe Proffessor Iris Stevens hasnt been seen at any COGIC event since she was replaced as President about 8 years ago, so this was a homecoming for her.

You're right bro. Iris, Luvonia (and Bettye) were all apart of Dr. Clark's administration when Bishop J. O. Patterson was presiding bishop. Then when Bishop Ford was Presiding bishop. To be honest, Luvonia didn't even want to be in that position. She was kinda thrusted into being music Dept president by Bishop L. H. Ford who was her jurisdictional bishop. When bishop G. E. Patterson got in office he gave Professor Iris a chance to serve as president and she did well. However when Blake became presiding bishop he put his people in office and really ruffled a lot of feathers. Honestly, it seems like they were trying to eliminate the music department of anything that had to do with the "Clark" name. Dr. Mattie Clark had a strong department. And of course she involved ALL of her girls.

@@MaeSekou the irony of that whole situation is that Dr. Clark's youngest son in-law, J. Drew Sheard (in spite of his father being a bishop and over the board of bishops, he is in fact married to a Clark) became a Bishop under Blake's leadership.
