LOL not really... But, this is fun for us. This game is meant for those who are knowledgeable of incredibly rare words and not just words we already know. English majors can do this, but you're looking for linguists, who deal with language and words specifically.

Did you hear that right? They said there's math in it. English Majors like us don't necessarily do a lot of math or logic/strategy. Heck, we're not essentially the best at vocabulary either. Try a Math Major.

I have to say- This is just as uninteresting as I imagined when I read the title. The players look like the most stereotypical scrabble people I could ever imagine. Also, it's one of those games where the community is so small that the best player isn't even really impressively good at the game. Sorry, but your game really doesn't have an amazing competitive scene, all in your head.

I didn't know od, ag, aerugo, horal, varve, yuzu, or probably other words on that board were words either. Probably a ton of words on all the other boards I didn't know of either. That's the thing about scrabble, it's a game primarily about memorization. It uses other factors as well, but if you don't know words are or how to spell them, it doesn't matter how good at math you are, or whatever the heck they claimed the other skills were that made it such a supposedly skillful game.

I love Scrabble because it reminds me of good times with my grandma, "Nunu". Don't worry, Nunu is still alive and well at almost 90 years old! I just don't get to see her very often :) I remember one time we both Bingoed as the first two plays! I played "turtles" and then she played "coasters" off my "s". Nunu would be an awesome professional Scrabble player. I think she even got the Triple Word Score. Rookie mistake on my part. I love videos like this. They are so wholesome. Thanks for sharing!

Managed to open up a triple and I played all my tiles for something like 110, plus all the points for the letters they had left, won by a couple. What's particularly interesting is probably any other move they make wins the game, as it's the only instance I can think of of someone making the worst move possible.

When I was Primary 5 my school sent me for a Scrabble competition. I remember losing one of the games until I played the word crimson with a blank tile which formed "crimsons". Not sure about the rules of professional scrabble but in that competition if you were challenged for the existence of a word and the word exists, you get double points. "Crimsons" alone gave me 35 points. My opponent challenged me and I got 70 points as a result and I eventually won. Felt great back then
