Well we fabricated one of your skinning machine’s and tried it out tonight on a coon. Everything we did skinning went pretty good until we got to the head…. Messed up on an ear but it’ll be ok. All in all everything worked awesome! Thanks for sharing your methods. It only took us about 15 minutes to skin it and most of that time was getting our stuff around. We didn’t build the clamp to start it but after tonight we’re fabricating one. 👍👍

Good video, nice and clean with no 'jokes' that tend to make some of us women or non hunters cringe. I really enjoyed learning about the skinning process, but do a lot of skinners use the setup (machine?) and method you do or is it mostly done by hand/knife and takes a lot longer? Your process seems very quick. Also, I'm sorry but what does it mean to 'pop a penise bone' ? Do you use them for something like dog chews or does it literally rupture and make a mess?

the problem with washing after fleshing is that it to hard to control the drying of the pelt without having it shrink before its boarded. boarding a wet pelt will usually result in the fur slipping. if you are careful in the steps you use to flesh, the pelt, it will not become dirty. hope this explains thing for ya.

You drive cars with leather seats, wear leather belts and shoes... You're a bunch of self righteous hypocrites who would enjoy seeing videos of animals dying from disease or overpopulation more than the wise management of a renewable natural resource. You're a vegan - so what. If people truly came from animals then hunting or trapping is just a "natural" thing to do. You people are living and "un-natural" life style.
you make it look soo easy! When I did my first raccoon hide, it took me more than an hour and I made lots of errors in the skinning process. I did not have the materials yet to tan the hide, so we took it to a taxidermist.

Mine first one had a lot of holes and I lost part of the tail and the head. I need to get his tail stripper thing and also the rack he hangs it from because most of the skin pulls off, but it's much easier to do with two hands

KSA خوله one its a use of an animal that if no season was on them they would over populate and die horrible deaths from disease and starvation and two if you don’t like a statement you can go fuck right off cause you obliviously don’t know anything about conservation and how when done properly it actually helps that species of animal.
Can u wash the fur after fleshing or mo and uf not why? Just curious. Good videos tho
When you wash them in a washing machine do you use any soap? I use a little dish soap in a bucket on the real greasy ones but have wondered about using a washing machine. How many you put in at a time?
Great Vid man! Awesome tutorial! What do you wash with? Straight water or soap? I've always used a little regular dawn. Just curious to see what you use.

Awesome tools I've never seen it done like that before.
Where did you get your clamping system that is on the floor in that video?!?
I've never hunted a racoon, never given any thought to skinning one. But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the skill and work involved in doing any of that.
Is there any danger of the essence spraying when I'm skinning it? or if I pull too hard will it just ooze? The lung shot you suggested work perfectly, didn't spray, but I was still too scared to attempt skinning it.

How did you keep the tail like that??? I skinned my first racoon, yesterday, and the tail fell apart when I pulled it off the bones.
Hey buddy I am looking to get a skinning device like that. Where can I get one?? With the electric winch to put it???
Hey do you use a washing machine specifically for this? I imagine it would be a bad idea to use the same one for your clothes after this.
I am thinking on making one of those skinning machines. Could you do a video on how it is set up? Standing by for #2. All the best

i;ve never washed my furs, but understand why you wuold.but was wondering why not wait till after the fleshing process.i have seen others make the same statment,is there a reason
@CoonCreekOutdoors

the problem with washing after fleshing is that it to hard to control the drying of the pelt without having it shrink before its boarded. boarding a wet pelt will usually result in the fur slipping. if you are careful in the steps you use to flesh, the pelt, it will not become dirty. hope this explains thing for ya.

Probably, I keep a old ratty long sleeve button up shirt in my shed, I on have a skinning machine but if you get your elbow and jam it into the skin it will form a little "pocket" at that point the skin and carcass will be flush against your shoulder. Using your body weight push straight down. You should be able to go from the hips the whole way to the front legs in one go. *if you are very small or if you are a little kid you this method may not work the best for you.
Great video man. Keep up the good work.
When you say the "vent" what do you mean? The asshole? Or something different? Can't find an answer or diagram on google to answer this and starting my fur handling.
