Professional Fossil Hunters! Find Fossil Hunting Surprises.🧐

Ойын-сауық

Professional fossil hunter Mike Harrison, is fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast! He finds one ammonite that literally breaks out of the stone with a perfect split! See Mike and I along Lyme Regis beach, as we film 🎥 this fossil video ! Mike has some fossil finds of absolute perfection on his Instagram site ! ( @ mikeharrisonfossils) He has some magical and marvellous fossil finds in Museums! Let’s go fossil collecting along the Jurassic Coast. I’ve got the sieving utensils for fossils and we can see what is washed out at low tide! I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide. Sometimes fossil hunting turns out to be treasure hunting, especially when you are trying a bit of sieving. The Jurassic Coast really does have some stunning fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. I offer fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast on the following website, so feel free to take a look at the website I made, with our online fossil walks ------www.lymeregisfossilwalks.com There is a fossil collecting code of conduct in place along the Jurassiccoast!

An excellent video, looking at the sea, it was excellent beach scouring conditions. The mud slide does look dangerous. Great reveal of the fossilised shell in the Black Ven mudslide rocks.

I've been thinking about maybe traveling to England for a weekend or a little bit longer to go fossil hunting at Lyme Regis or Charmouth. How rare is it to find a fossil of a vertebrae? I assume it's very rare, but finding something like a reptile or fish fossil would be really awesome! Greetings from the almost fossil-less, Norway

It’s not that rare to find a single vertebra from the Ichthyosaur- at low tide. Looking in the scoured out parts of the beach helps often for you to get a find. The bones are jet black or a brown colour and can be found literally anywhere at low tide in rock pools and scoured out gulleys etc but you need some luck 🍀 in finding these sorts fossils too. Finding an ammonite and certainly a belemnite is something you will actually get at low tide
