Professional Fossil Hunter’s Day Out!

Ойын-сауық

Let’s go fossil collecting along the Jurassic Coast. I’ve got the sieving utensils for fossils and we can see what is washed out at low tide! I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide. Sometimes fossil hunting turns out to be treasure hunting, especially when you are trying a bit of sieving. The Jurassic Coast really does have some stunning fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. I offer fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast on the following website, so feel free to take a look at the website I made, with our online fossil walks ------www.lymeregisfossilwalks.com There is a fossil collecting code of conduct in place along the Jurassiccoast#fossilhunter#fossilhunting#ammonite

QUE MARAVILHOSO! Um echinoidea perfeito. Os vestígios sugerem poucos espinhos. Poderia ser um intermediário entre as bolachas-do-mar (sand dollar) e os ouriços-do-mar (sea urchin)???

Nice crinoid piece, it is very hard to find much in the summer. From your experience, would you say that there is a particular month in which you find the most?

The stormy weather of January throws up some nice fossil specimens-washed out of the mudslides! 🙌! - at low tide . February is a great time during the half term week. There are always people finding some great stuff washed out during the stormier winter days ! When the low tide comes along some great finds can be revealed, and you have more of the beach to look at. Just stay away from the dangerous cliffs that are liable to fall suddenly and without warning ⚠️.

I have created a standard reply for the fossil walks at the moment. I am also in my shop in Lyme Regis running that a lot of the time. I will be fossil walking if you so wish to try this activity during October 2023 onwards ! Sorry we have no availability for fossil walks until then.Nigel Clark local authour he does the fossil walks at times he may have passed you my way . He gets very busy like me in the holidays . Some one I recommend for the fossil walks is @mikeharrisonsfossils on Instagram his mobile no. is 07526563997. You’re in safe hands on a fossil walk with MIke as he is a regular on the beach looking for fossils at low tide ! We have a video on KZread called "Ammonite Lyme Regis."My channel on KZread is “ Lyme Regis Fossils ,” if you’d like to view that please see the video I mentioned it really shows you how to find fossils properly at low tide- along the Jurassic Coast. You need a tide table book or knowledge of when it’s low tide here at Lyme Regis. You can go out an hour before low tide and hour after low tide looking East of Lyme Regis on the 2008 landslide . Thats a good place to sieve for fossils . We sell sieves at 7 Drakes Way , Lyme Regis DT7 3QP . Come to our shop for any more information you need on fossil collecting. We can give you the most up to date news possible on where to look and what to do on Lyme Regis East beach. Good luck on the beach and don’t venture near to the cliffs . The cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. The sea does the work for you washing the fossils out of mudslides and landslips. You have more beach to look at during low tide along the Jurassic Coast .Please see our video below on KZread, Thanks BrandonLennon….. “Black Ven Landslide , Lyme Regis , 11th November 20l21
