Hey! I saw a tag to my vid pop up so I had to watch. I honestly never expected that video to take off like it did when I made it EIGHT years ago 😮 so I admit it’s a bit tough re-watching it knowing what I know now and seeing how young my old man was (he is 17 years old now!!). I didn’t think it would be that serious of a video when I made it… was just showing part of our routine not claiming to be a professional at all. The internet is weird! 😂 I knew immediately that your first NO NO was going to be the shampoo 😅. I think I only ever used that shampoo twice and of course that’s been the main topic of conversation in my own comments on that video. I also regret not showing everything like shampooing him because I didn’t just dump shampoo on him and call it a day lmao. I do the shampoo in hand method you talked about and rub it into his legs, feet, tummy, etc… I also do use a slicker brush but he just preferred that silly purple human one back then… and it worked for the time being. I could pretty much predict everything you were going to react to 😅 but hey, I did what worked for us at the time and he always looked cute and was happy. I had also posted a lengthy pinned comment on that vid a few years back to clear up a couple things you spoke about. Also re the tail: I do exactly like you explained. I think the vid only showed how I quickly got the length I wanted. Appreciate the tips though!

Thanks for responding!! Awww I’m so happy to hear he’s made it to 17 that’s amazing. I think the pandemic likely helped kick off videos like yours which can be super helpful to the public. Honestly I was happy to see dog shampoo and not human/baby shampoo 😆 I really think videos like you made are helpful because it shows people who don’t have professional experience and their process and learning along the way! Also I have to say anything that I may have “cringed” at, no need to worry. I have witnessed many clients do the exact same things! I have had many clients walk through the door with a “broom” tail or use a human brush because it was their dog’s preference among MANY other things. 🤪 these was very common things! I always tell clients the same things I said on here 😆 personally I’m just happy when people take an interest in grooming their pets at home! Brushing, bathing, clipping, whatever! It’s all good practice for the dog and helpful. It’s all a learning process anyways, thanks for sharing yours! Great job! Also your whole channel is fabulous. I know the grooming one was more of a one off but I love your content. ❤️
