    Thanks for this helpful video! Does it matter which side of the wire goes with the second wire? (so each wire gets split in two...do I need to be careful about which of the two goes with the other split wire?) Hope that makes sense.

    What’s the best way to light a 45’ wide weeping cherry tree which looks like a huge umbrella? I have purchased up lights and down lights but not sure how many I should use, what wattage led bulbs or placement. Thanks for any tips.

    I would like it up with at least 3-4 lights and spread them out. Have at least one or two of the lights near the trunk of the tree (3ft away) to shine up on the trunk. That way you can get an even spread of light on it. I would go with a 5 watt light. Depends on how bright you want it to look. I'm not sure on the down lights (moon lights). I've never installed one on that kind of tree, and I don't think it would look good.

    How do you connect to many wires to the transformer......

    Some wires to each tap or if there aren't many taps you can connect them all & run to a junction small valve box below transformer and run less wires up to the transformer

    Adam, great channel. I subscribed! Please help. I have a ton of Portfolio LED metal lights (various) I bought several years ago. As you know, the stakes break! I guess Lowes wants everyone to buy an entire new fixture when that happens. They say that the replacement stakes (Item #688449 / Model #739) is no longer available. Do you know....1) Are these available anywhere? 2) If not, is there a substitute I can use? Please help. Thanks! Bob in St. Louis

    Hey Bob, Thank you and thanks for subscribing! Sadly I don't know much about portfolio lights other than I replace them all the time with my professional lights. My assumption is their stakes are a different size than most, but we can definitely try just buying a stake and seeing if they fit. The easiest way for you to get a stake is to go on Volt lighting website and go to their accessories. I'll think of other options, but that's the only thing that comes to mind.

    Most low voltage stakes have a 1/2" thread so most any would work. Kichler makes stakes separate....15575bk

    How can I install a dimmer on landscape lighting?

  • @aklighting8292

    @aklighting8292

    Yes. Make sure the bulbs are dimmable. I would suggest getting the brilliance LED dimmer. It's like $100.

    Best option is to use brilliance LED dimmer. It's like $100. You can also get special transformers that dim. I know vista pro has one.

    This is the old fashion way to do it…get the low voltage lights from home depot (Hampton brand). The wires from the light are the “SNAP ON” & you don’t have to strip the wires no more…A lot Faster!!

    Great comment. However, those snap on connectors are not waterproof and aren't fastened well to the wire. They tend to have a lot of problems down the road.
