This was a very helpful video. I am looking to put in 6 path lights and have been watching quite a few DIY vids - this has been the best. Thanks

This video showed the step-by-step and addressed multiple scenarios for the wiring. Now I feel confident that I can install the lighting myself. Thank you, Lighting Doctor!

Excellent vidio Cal. An fyi to everyone- you can't go wrong using his information and product. I did a fairly large install at our house for the first time and it really is as easy as Cal makes it look, as long as you follow his guidelines. The connectors are not exactly cheap, but I wouldn't use anything else for longevity of the system. The hardest part is really just deciding where you want the lights and what type. Oh, and along with digging your trenches. Look forward to installing the second half of our system soon. Thanks again Cal.

Hello and thank you for all the great videos. I am going to build an outdoor grill area with a pergola covering. I would like to put low voltage lighting above the grill and where people will sit. Can I put these down lights on a light switch on the beam and keep the transformer on at all time? Thanks for your help!

Great video, very helpful! I currently have 3 low voltage edge lights installed on my patio. The installer connected all three fixtures to the 12/2 wire coming from the transformer using only two connectors. Each connector has 4 wires, one from the transformer and one from each of the three fixtures. I want to add addition light fixtures. Question: Would you recommend splicing the 12/2 cable coming from the transformer (in front of the existing connections) to create another run for the additional lights? If so, what type of connectors would you use? Thank you, my apologies for the the lengthy question :)

Great video very helpful! Once you create the T line can you split it again? Eg T line coming from the main has to feed two lights can you split the T line?

I like this method. Clean, easy, less hassle, faster. Do those connectors have built-in testing ports for voltage? Well explained when you end your run with last lights. I'm wondering what would be done if you have 2 LED lights very close to each other. Example would be well lights etc.

Awesome easy to understand video! One thing I see a lot of is making sure your transformer isn’t undersized - but can’t find any info on if it’s bad to buy an oversized transformer? (thinking about 300watts ) even though my current load is around 90 watts. Planning To expand in a couple of years.

Does a more fixture means that we need a bigger wire ? i suppose transformer has to be choosen accordingly. How to choose a wire ? I am planning for 10 uplights, 9 harscaping lights and 4 path way lights, i know they are many. Will appreciate a guidance.

General rule of thunb when using led lights and a transformer with a 15 volt terminal is you can put up to 100 watts of lights on up to 250ft of 12/2 wire without any issues

Thank you for the your lighting information and sharing installation tips and techniques. You know your landscape lighting business. The videos are a complete hot mess, however. You could use a media consultant.
