PROF. RYSZARD LEGUTKO: Corruption scandal rocks European Parliament
December 12th, 2022: Statement on the ongoing investigations in Belgium involving some members and staff of the European Parliament.
Thank you, Madam President! Well, there is not much to be said. A lot of facts have already come out and I am sure more will come out in the future. Perhaps some of them quite surprising in a most unpleasant sort of way. But you were right of course, Madam President, that the European Parliament was targeted by the "bad guys", and probably they considered the Parliament to be a place with several weak spots and - indeed - they succeeded to a degree that shocked a lot of us. So I always wonder and ask myself to what extent is it a problem of personal weaknesses of our colleagues, former colleagues or staffers, and to what extent is it a problem of a system, of a structure, of rules and procedures. Probably both elements should be taken into account and I wish there could be some kind of a critical, objective analysis of this phenomenon. After all, this is a huge institution, very complex and not easy to manage. But such a critical analysis should be conducted by somebody from outside, not from our midst, for obvious reasons - that we are more interested in sustaining this institiution and defending it, no matter what we say openly. So I would suggest that we should have a sort of critical description of the way such an institution functions. Perhaps that would give us an insight into what was wrong and how to prevent similar developments from happening in the future. And one last point - one thing that will certainly not improve the reputation of the European Parliament: pompous, highfalutin rhetoric. This will not help. I mean, I have an impression that we very much like to indulge in sort of lofty language. That didn't help in the past, hasn't helped and won't help. Just do something real. We want the real thing. Not the rhetoric. Rhetoric is a very easy thing.

Correct, and they were not targeted by 'the bad guy'. The EU parliament is THE BAD GUY :)
Every time this man speaks, there is a noticeable breeze of fresh and clear air blows through the meeting. A decent, honest and selfless man in politics. How utterly refreshing.

Prof. Legutko is one of the very few within the EU organization who is worth listening to.
Medal of honor for you, Mr. Legutko
This man is strong and courageous in his damning of EU and how it operates. It is refreshing to hear someone call it and tell the truth.

Wise man, wise words
This guy proves time and time again he is the only one who knows what's going on, no the wonder they hate him.
Oh, it's entirely a problem of personal weakness, mainly greed, and after a few years the structure become rotten because the individual components are rotten. But it start with lies and greed. Do not pretend there’s any structure possible which is immune to individual corruption, please! Only a few basic things are needed: 1. Transparency. 2. More transparency. 3. Complete transparency. 4. Full accountability

And when did Parliament listen to the people, where and when can we voted in important thing ? Where do we have democratic European Parlament ?? I believe European Parlament leaders work for US interest, and Europe would suffer and collective collapse because of this. Bye bye to wealthy Europe when Europe are forced to buy expensive LPG gas and oil from US. Be dependent on shipping expensive LPG gas and oil from the other side of the globe -US, would not be good for Europe in the future. And not good for the globe, when we know only 15 huge ship's letting out more pollution than every car on the globe 🌎 Unbelievable to witnesses this insanity, no secret anymore what US working on in Ukraine since 2013. People should see some education videos from US Professor John Mearsheimer, he knew year's back what US working on and planned in Ukraine since 2013. Everything he predicted and warned about year's ago when it comes to Ukraine and US involvement. We all witnesses happening right now, see some education videos from US Professor John Mearsheimer, it's his job to know what US working on around the world. He knew US decided years ago using Ukraine as a battleground for their proxywar against Russia. Trying to weakening Russia, US professor John Mearsheimer Said stop provoking Russia multiple times . But US didn't care listen, they decide that Europe should be dependent on US expensive LPG gas and oil shipped from the other side of the globe. And that Europe should not be dependent on cheap gas and oil directly from pipelines from their neighbor. Just unbelievable.......

Reality: Russian tycoons who spoke against Pooting are mysteriously falling off balconies, being poisoned, etc. Narrative: It's most definitely not Pooting at work here. It is yet another piece of propaganda from the West.
Tip of the corrupt iceberg!!
Well said. Professor. 👏 hopefully a few more good MEPs will speak out against what’s happening.
Bravo Professor Legutko!!! You’re the salt of the Earth and the world needs your truth and your courage❤
Good luck Professor. Parliament, regardless of which country is a talking chamber.. idle promises, elaborate rhetoric, posturing for effect. When politicians accept money and gifts from outside, it’s for their insight and influence behind the scenes.. the mechanics on how best to achieve an end result. This does indicate as you suggest.. personal weakness and political machinery that’s not fit for purpose, either unable or unwilling to process business. Big job ahead..
Measured as always 👌 and, lo and behold, nobody laughing to his face.
Kuðos Prof. Legutko. Tell it like IS! 💫👍💫
Targeted?? Bahahhahhahaha "Mdme President" is the worst of them all ff's 🙄🤦♂️🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
When are Europeans going to admit the simple fact that the European Union is a colossal failure, as all federations are bound to be? I am a Canadian, and I am not afraid to admit that our federation is a colossal failure. The weakness of every federation is that politicians always end up pandering to the areas governed that are the most populous and the most economically powerful in order to get into and remain in power, and then those areas end up dominating the entire federation economically and politically.

Did you hear the one about the GTA , Dominion ballot Inc ,.and a narcissist WEF Puppet?
Well said Sir.👏🇨🇮
As Prof Legutko suggests, the problem is structural. The European Parliament has no coherent government or opposition, nor even organised party coalitions. MEPs vote essentially as individuals, to their own agenda. They are elected to a fixed term, on only the vaguest indication of policy, so their votes are really tradeable and negotiable. The agenda is set by the European Commission. The EC is appointed, not elected. It is sworn NOT to consider the interests of any member, and the Commissioners may again pursue personal agendas, answerable to no one. With only 27 Commissioners, each becomes a prime target for lobbying. This system facilitates corruption, so much so as to create the suspicion that it was designed for that very purpose.
Love this man speaking truth.🇨🇦
Thank you so much !
It is not weakness it is greed, just horrible greed!
The professionalization of politics has only brought us sociopaths and thieves.
Good speech to the point
No. The EU is designed Oligarchy focused on Mercantilism and that leads to concentration of power under key power brokers and what constitutes corruption a slippery slope. The change a while back to put the key committee posts under the control of just two parties has left the parliament wide open. The original motive was to keep UK Centre-Right out of posts when we were members in an act of racial bullying effectively voted for by a majority of MEPs, Brexit was an earlier reaction (making accusations of us leaving for no reason from the perpetrators particularly despicable), but now there are further consequences. Also lots of spare deputy commissioners floating around and a Commission president chosen as a racial sinecure, so long as she is anti Eastern Europe.
politicians-lawyers-or 2n hand car salesman without rhetoric would be like goal keepers with no arms
Thank you
Is he talking about "penetration of the cabinet's by the world economic forum" ?

Oh Yea those outside audits are very cool.
It might help if the EU became a democratic institution.

The scandal is all forgotten a month later. Shame on those criminals and the media
Much respect for this man. Telling facts in front of them...oohhh that hurts.
without that man in the big teepee ... well, who knows !
Again Sir it was amazing speach.Well done. The problem is everyone in the European union only looking their own benefit and a little their countries the rest of the European are suffering!!!Women, children because of man gread.Old people can't eat, heat their house, not enough pension.the whole Eoropean institution need restoration . Brussel and other powerful countries MISSUSES their power and the poorer people have to suffer for it..Every country in Europe should receive the same amount of money like the rich one.
There is no time for analysis of the causes of this corruption scandal. The EP is to busy praising UKR and issuing sanctions against Russia , but actually destroying EU economies.
look no further than klaus stirring the pot
Not one FACT has ever been produced or shown in the European Parliament....NOT one!!!
There’s lots of money moving around, plenty fall in the beurocrats pockets.
And corruption doesn't go on anywhere else in the world.
Wise words
2:25 And besides the EP, do not forget the European "Commission" and its "President", both of whom speak pompously when propagating their megalomaniacal plans.
To coin a phrase - I'm, luvvin it!
Good point. Which organization is independent and honest enough to audit European institutions ? I can’t think of any, I’m afraid
Each time the answer is the same. Forgetting what had happening, focus on the future. An nothing will be made.
Where are all the remain crew on this corrupted little endeavour. Seems like the EU is a dirty little cabal.

Interesting!
I like this guy.
He has a point about it being the problem not just of personal weaknesses of the corrupt colleagues, but also how the system is set up. From what I have seen in life so far, any system that can be abused will be abused. So, I guess, it is more important to set the system in a way that will make it difficult to exploit. We do that elsewhere. For example, if a web site is taken down by a group of hackers, the web developers will immediately investigate what went wrong and try to fix it so that the same thing doesn't happen again. The fact that the political systems all over the world seem to remain corrupt makes me think that whoever has set them up wants them like that.
Welcome to politics professor. There will be a buffet after the meeting.
Nothing more than so clearly esposed .......
In layman's terms "Stop talking 💩" Well it would be a start.
👏👏👏
Politicians around the world are such criminals and people need to rise up and go after them in full force of the law . Enforcement is so important and if they have corrupted the legal institutions u all need to use force
What? A series of people who are appointed to seats of power not selected by the people have turned out to be corrupt? Why who would have imagined this would ever be the case .. ROFLMAO.
👏👏👏👏👏
The words of the Professor have a deep and sad true about what's going on in the European parliament: words, rethoric and full stop.
