Amazing skills with the lathes by these machinists; curious to see the finished product in a running engine. Most amazing, is that the machining is done without any lubrication on the tools.

This is cast iron. You do neither need nor want any lubrication with that material

It seems to be casted ,shouldn t it be forged ?

most folk rag on these guys but we have to remember most places there are in what is essentially a post apoccalyptic scenario, make as much as possible locally, even their own cutting and welding gasses

I'd like to see an engine at half throttle with one of these cranks in it to see how balanced it is

It would be as balanced as anyone in a pre 60s vehicle before CNC. This is how it was done. It worked well enough.
