That independence that Dimash always talks about. The blood that their ancestors shed. The suffering and genocide of the Kazakh people. A lot of that was due to the communist rule of the former Soviet Union. So please, don't preach and say that Communism shouldn't be criticised because of the fact that Dimash sang a song about peace. You're twisting his message to conform to your narrative.

You are clearly defining him by his political beliefs : he is communist so he is bad. Imagine someone going around commenting things like: “he is a capitalist, he shouldn’t care being loved by him” what does it means? Also Dimash loves Jackie, he is his friend. He doesn’t care if people are Chinese, Russians, communist or other types of political or religious beliefs. He doesn’t need someone to despise them on his or his people behalf.

Dimash calls him Papa Lin. There is a 28 yr age gap but they are close. Terry Lin had a concert where he had hoped that Dimash could join but Dimash had other gigs and said he could not make it. Then ended up showing up after flying from his own performance and coming on stage direct from the airport to surprise Terry, and with no rehearsal blew the audience away.

If I remember correctly, it was Terry Lin's birthday and that's why Dimash promised to come to the concert. Dimash wanted to keep his promise despite being double booked. There is another video when Terry Lin surprises Dimash when he is in the recording studio. Dimash becomes so shy and embarrassed. Dimash thinks that Terry Lin is one of the best. So why would he just show up at the studio unannounced. Of course, Dimash is happy to meet his dear friend.

Dimash really loves Terry Lin. Dimash once promised Terry Lin that he would sing at his concert. However, the concert had to be rescheduled for a day when Dimash had an important event in Kazakhstan that he couldn't miss. That day Dimash performed in Kazakhstan, got on a plane and got off the plane straight to the concert venue. He entered the stage and Terry Lin was really surprised. He didn't know that Dimash was traveling to sing with him and fulfill his promise. They hadn't rehearsed anything, but they did a duet with this same song which is a Dimash composition. Cute, isn't it?

Dimash can look very different depending on how they style his hair. Case in point, compare Stranger, Fly Away and Ave Maria performances just a few days apart at New Wave 2021. I don't think I have seen an artist who is such a chameleon. All his faces are beautiful in very different ways. 😍

Terry Lin is one of my favorite singers from Taiwan. I've been listening to his music since the 90's. He's known for his strong vocal prowess and wide range. Dimash greatly admires Terry. He calls Terry "Lin Ba Ba", which means Father Lin, which is a sign of respect. As you know Jackie Chan loves Dimash. Our Prince D hold his own no matter who he sings with. Dimash met Terry at the Singer 2017 program, and immediately clicked. He called him “Papa Lin”, and later also invited him to perform at his Bastau concert in Astana. Terry also invited Dimash to perform at his birthday concert in China, but Dimash was tied up at the time, and thought he wasn’t going to make it. However, he did in the end, and hopped off the plane just in time to come on stage, to Terry’s great surprise!

Several years ago, Dimash found out at the last minute that Terry was going to be alone on Christmas. He literally dropped everything and raced to the airport grabbing the first flight out. En route he called a mutual friend, explained everything and asked her to go over and make sure the front door was open. She phone videoed a small knock on the door, and a Dimash face peeking around it wearing a big grin, Terry's face in shock as the door flew open, Dimash bounding in and grabbing Terry swinging him around in a bear hug yelling Merry Christmas !! It was so dear ! There was no doubt it was last minute on the run because the normally perfectly groomed and elegant Dimash had on the rattiest knit cap, sweats and tennis shoes known to man !! Hee !!😁 They immediately started talking and laughing to each other at the same time, arms around one another, they walked out and down the stairs leaving her standing there filming,and forgotten. If you notice, when Dimash sings this song, his emotions are all over his face. When Terry sings, there really isn’t any emotion shown. They met on Singer in China. Terry was 50 at that time..hard to believe. Dimash called him PaPa Lin. They had a very nice friendship. Dimash sang at Terry’s concert and Terry sang at Dimash’ first concert. Terry doesn’t usually sing those high notes. This was fun to watch.

Terry Lin is great!! He came in, in the middle of "The Singer" competition as a previous contestant. He struck up a very solid, now long time friendship with Dimash. Due to the age difference of 28 yrs Terry became "Papa Lin" on the show to Dimash. They both went along with it well and enjoyed the bantering. Regarding his looks- I have never in all my days seen such a Chameleon as Dimash! He can look mature and "older" one performance and the next one he looks 18 yrs old again! i love that terry gets to sing with di. he was basically di's big brother when they did the singer competition together and terry always considered di family to him.

They met when he did the show I am singer. Terry was the poor fool that was waiting to go on after Dimash, but he treated him like a younger brother while Dimash was there.

Dimash calls him Papa Lin. and he generally treats artists older than himself the same way he does his elders. Goes to show the respect he has for his seniors. In contrast, one young female artist who called Sinead O'Connor 'granny' in a very derogratory way for commenting on how the art of music is degraded when young pop artists think twerking on stage for attention elevates the art. Mad respect for her and artists who make music that promotes the arts and influences the next generation toward good causes rather than using it for their public display of personal depravations.

If you had watched the Singer Show on Gloria Wu's Channel you would know exactly who Terry is to Dimash. He was on the Singer show with Dimash and they became very good friends. Dimash calls him Papa Lin. You didn't even realize when they panned to the audience, that "Jacky Chan" was sitting in the front row!!!! Mr. Chan puts on a movie festival most every year. This was one. If you watched GW, you would know about Him and Dimash as well. You would also have had English subtitles and the back stories of songs, and the back stage footage. But then again no one listens to me.

If you think all the way back to Dimash’s first performance on the Singer 2017, SOS, when he first walked out one of the other artists backstage commented that he reminded him of Lin Zhixuan aka Terry Lin. If you do check out any of Terry Lin’s performances I suggest his performance of Queen’s “Somebody to Love”. So so good❣️🫶🏼

As everyone has said, Dimash met Terry on The Singer. I saw a funny interview with Terry where they were asking him about Dimash. Terry said he wanted to be friends with Dimash although they were very different ages, but Dimash kept calling him papa Lin! I know as a 53 year old who works with younger co-workers that I just think of them as being my age, but when I was in my early 20's I sure wouldn't have thought of a 53 year old as my age! It doesn't seem to go both ways!😄Someone has suggested you react to the video of Terry and his wife surprising Dimash with a Christmas visit in China. If you haven't reacted to it, I would encourage you to do so! It's very sweet and will put everyone in the Christmas spirit!

I think it's Dimash's fitted suit and combed back hair. It's different from his other styles. A lot of the performances he did in China they had him in shorter pants where his ankles and lack of socks showed. I always thought that was comical. You should look into some of Terry Lin's other performances, they are always really good.
