for some context on this album, jimin has said through this album he wanted to convey his honest feelings that he experienced during the pandemic. “it tells the story of how i faced myself and finally stood at a new starting point.” this song specifically was inspired by one of his favourite films called like crazy that was released in 2011. he said this song is about the painful feeling of losing oneself while searching for a loved one in a dream but still wanting to stay in the dream forever. there’s obviously many theories about the song and mv but these are just a few of the things that jimin himself has said about it. also this song was produced by pdogg and ghstloop if you were wondering.

Like clockwork, people are going after Jimin for his live vocals during the encore of, "Like Crazy." I don't think the average person understands the skill that Jimin's singing technique requires, even without choreography. There's a reason he's capable of sounding so otherworldly, and it's not just Autotune. The amount of stamina needed & energy spent is equivalent to an elite athlete plus it carries the same risk of injury & loss of control due to muscle/tendon stress. Jimin is doing a high wire act every time he sings live in his upper range; instead of marveling at the muscle & breath control required to do what he does, there are people just waiting for a chance to point & laugh when he falls.

Jimin also tends to joke around at the end of the shows. He isn't even trying, because he's usually laughing a bit. Which was the end of that show 🙄 jeez people are so immature

Yeah, the encore was not his fault at all. His In-ear was not working he couldn't hear himself. You could see him grabbing his ear. They also just started the song with no warning whilst other idols where still on stage. I was so pissed with mnet about it, it felt deliberate they also didn't tell fans he would be at the award portion of it so there was barely any army there 😢

​​​@@hanishshkr nah like frfr tbh with that vocal style trust me it will hard to pulled it without cracking and straining ur own vocal on live..if someone who has a normal vocal technique and vocal tone prolly can pulled it but still it hard to match the tuned of dis songs...I tried to covered this songs and takes me 15 times takes to sounds atleast a little bit good...jimin somehow since 2017 he started to forced his voices...trust me if u tell other kpop idol to covered jimin songs and exactly copied his vocal tone trust me they will also not survived..jimin still didn't reached to semi masters his own vocal tone and vocal technique.. that's why alot of producer love jimin vocal tone bc jm vocal is more like a tools for them to experiment rather than a vocal for live performance

Great producer talk. 👏 people really don't get it. To me it's like when a chef can layer depth of taste in a dish, or an interior designer use the use of scale and rhythm in a room. You know who can do it when there is layers and depth and who are the amateur cook or decorater. If a sound isn't to taste to an individual, sure Ok, but its not bad music. I may not like some aesthetic some designers do, but I can still see when it's a good design.

Ever since I started listening to k-pop I've been struggling to explain to people what I was hearing and there's only so many times I could use words like "layering" and "clean" and "muddy" and "hollow" before they (and I!) gave up in frustration. As a person with absolutely no experience in production of any kind I couldn't explain *why* those things were happening. Even though you guys were speaking in the broadest of terms, it's enough to give me a new way to describe what's going on.

I glad you explained about audio engineering which is many people don't understand. It is rare to find any music reaction that explain about it. I understand what you talking about, although I'm not musician or sound engineer. My hobby is designing audio amplifier and listening music. Not all music is unplugged (without sound system) or using acoustic instruments. Styling choice depend on genre and the taste of the producer.

I managed to download Letter on my phone and now have it on my Spotify through local files. There is a way, guys!

When Set Me Part 2 came out I was absolutely addicted to the song and I wondered if the title track would have topped it for me. When I heard Like Crazy It automatically took first place, his voice reminds of a siren it’s dragging you through the song, through his journey. No matter what anyone says this was an amazing song! And the live performances make it even better too, the choreography is so good!

I bought an external CD/DVD drive so I could listen to the CD. 🤣🤣🤣 I loved the production conversation. I can hear what you mean but I don't do it so I learned a lot. 😁 Producers really loved Set Me Free, by the way. Everyone I saw. The contrast between that response and people who didn't appreciate the stylistic choices was really instructive. I do spoken audio. I've noticed that some of the engineers I've worked with can't work with my voice at all. I often sound muddy, and if not, I tend to sound like I'm inside your head and everyone else is across the room 🤣 I'm curious about that now. I get that people really don't know that there's a lot of processing on vocals. They respond the way they do because you think they're saying people can't sing, I get that, but it's frustrating even for me 😂 I feel like for album versions, in particular, the voice is being used as another form of instrument, one that has to be handled carefully because it's carrying a lot of the song's impact. But it's still an instrument. I personally enjoy live vocals more because I like the imperfections... And it makes the moments when things come together perfectly land so well. But they're basically different audio mediums. I don't want the live performance to sound exactly like the studio album. I want every breath pop and voice crack. I don't care if a note is imperfect now and then. It's just a different thing.
