Standard Proctor means light weight compaction and Modified Proctor means heavy compaction . In highways Modified Proctor Compaction is required.

When soil conesiveless and, use to sand and greval to use havey compaction mens use to 4.89 hammer and falling 410cm hight fil the five leyars belows 25 this case when use to 1000cc mould and when 2250 cc mould use to 55 belows in each five layers

@@CivilEngineeringbyAnkur Thanks. But I read in IS code that 2.6 kg rammer is used for low volume traffic i.e. for MDR, ODR and Village roads whereas 4.89 kg rammer is used for Heavy volume traffic i.e. for expressways, NH and SH.

Over-compaction is considered undesirable because it may eventually create cracks in the underlying compacted material so that it results in a decrease in density. Moreover, it causes waste of machine power and manpower which is undesirable. Over compaction koi karta nahi hain sab manpower time and cost bachaate hain

This soil is coarser or equal to 37.5mm and using 19 mm sieve will retain big sizes which will effect the density resulting it as per IS 2720 Part 8 1983 Note 1

Request you please don't make public comment without seeing whole video or having depth knowledge of right procedure as per IS 2720 part 8 , see the clause 5.3 compaction in Large Size Mould - For compacting soil containing coarse material up to 37.5 mm size, the 2 250 cm3 mould should be used. A sample weighing about 30 kg and passing the 37.5 mm IS sieve is used for the test.
