Keep the updates coming! My ProStar V2 90 gets delivered tomorrow. I’m hoping there’s enough room in the sump to put an aquamesh divider and make a small refugium

Oh man… I have the 90, so I can tell you that the sump is very limited. I wanted a Refugium too, but my only option for macro algae became the tunze MAR, and putting the pump in the protein skimmer chamber.

@@sandymartinez-echegoyen5022 I’m planning on using the protein compartment as my refugium and using a light that uses a magnet to mount to the outside of the sump. I’m hoping I don’t need a protein skimmer.

Nice tank and setup! Which skimmer are you using? Is your ATO working properly?

Thanks! I run the the Bubble Magus Curve 5. Love the bubble magus skimmers. Been using them for years and never failed me. Yes the ATO works. A simple float valve ATO is great. It’s a small reservoir tho so have to fill it every 2 days or so.

hmmm... thinking about it.... never had a sump, but other than the sump over flowing, a sump seems like superior filtration over everything else.... I imagine these are made locally in Jax?

Yes, I would definitely recommend running a sump when possible! There are various ways you can ensure it won’t overflow such as sizing the sump appropriately, making sure your return output nozzles are just below to surface of the water to minimize the amount of water siphoned when the power goes out, drilling a small siphon break hole in your return output, etc. Yes, the Pro Stars are made locally in Jacksonville!

I’m still loving it! Like anyone that goes with a smaller tank, wishing it was bigger already :) no new substantial cons. I have to refill the auto top off every other day so not really serving the purpose it is intended to. But you can of course put a bigger reservoir on it to solve that. Being that it doesn’t have two returns, I purchased a dual output loc line piece to direct it out two ways. Love how quiet it is. It’s in our living room and you barely hear anything. Granted, your return pump has a bit to do with that too but the drain is nearly silent. No regrets with the system!

@@Saltyrootsjax i found one an hour away from me for great price, it's missing the top off resivor. But idc i have one already that's running my 40g cube that is 5 gallon container and last me a full week week and half. I don't see many videos on these tanks yours and like two others which is why i asked

@@tattedup1189 yeah from what I’ve heard it’s a newer company just starting to get noticed so not surprised there aren’t many videos. If they weren’t based right next to me and in every LFS around here, idk if I would even know about them. But yeah, almost a plus that the ATO isn’t included lol not very useful anyway
