Thanks! I used the harness and PCM from my donor vehicle, so it just plugged right in. Because my truck is a 94, it had a separate wiring harness for the gauges. I didn’t have to integrate the factory harness with the donor harness. I converted the donor harness to be a stand alone, plugged it in, and fired it up. The older trucks make for a very easy swap!

How much boost are you making and what pulleys do you have? I have a 6.0 on the way with a D1SC and am trying to get an idea on boost levels, I will have the same cam as well as some LS3 heads

I am using stock GM truck pulleys and a 3.8” on the ProCharger. I see 9psi, but your D1 is geared differently and will see more. Good luck with the build!

Thanks for posting, it's a Great build and clean work. On your 4L80 did you abandon the neutral safety switch? If so do you bolt it to the trans but just leave it unplugged electrically? The tune doesn't use it anymore?

Thanks! The 4L60e range switch bolts right up to the 4L80e, so that part of your wiring doesn’t change. I don’t currently have the neutral safety switch wired up and it doesn’t cause any issues, though.

I have a 93 Chevy k1500 4×4 Neutral safety switches on the column, swapped 6.0 4l80 as well, it had it on the transmission, custom fabricated the 4l60's shift bracket to work with the 80's NSS because I was swapping over the wiring from donor truck, turns out the truck had a remanufactured ECU, didn't have the proper pinouts in it to run AC, crap the whole wiring computer and went with Holley Terminator X Max, use the trucks original neutral safety switch in the column, shift bracket has plenty of room on the transmission because I didn't have to modify it after all without that switch on there, did shorten the rod that goes from the frame to the tranny shift bracket. (Might help someone?)

If you pop the 8.5 and skip the Ford 8.8 I would believe the best bargain to be the Quick Performance 9" Ford unit. It's what I run in my 94 Sonoma. My truck features a 1st. Gen pump gas N/A 399ci. Stroker. Good move going with the 4L80E. Drives me nuts when people say the 4l80 and 9" suck up to much power, i'm not looking to set a world record but rather looking to make my truck as bullet proof as possible.

Hopefully the 8.5 lasts a bit. I’ve got a Detroit Truetrac and Motive gears in it, still need to weld the axle tubes and put a girdle on it. I was running a 60e when I had a 5.3 in this truck, but I wasn’t about to spend a couple grand on a “stage” whatever rebuild only to have it blow up anyway. I’ll never understand why some people are so stubborn about running those transmissions!

how did you get those stock lights to work with an la swap if they are hooked up ?

The lights are on the chassis harness, which is separate from the engine harness on first gens and early second gens. Just avoid cutting that harness and your lights will still work. I’m not sure if it’s separate on the later second gens.

Run mid 10's on stock Gm block with good rotating assembly n good heads, n 89 octane., bought pro charger hoping to run mid 9s 406ci the 6.0 is sweet but a lot of work for. A low 10

I’m using CPW mounts, and the motor is slid back as far as I can get it. I have about 3/8” between the cylinder head and firewall at the closest point.

Did you do anything to the heads

Just replaced springs, keepers, retainers, guide seals, and rocker trunnions. I’ve never tried any port work- maybe next time I have it apart.

Yes I am, but will have to change to speed density for this current setup. I was running a stock 5.3 on about 8psi and it didn’t max out the MAF, but I’ll be making the switch for the 6.0. What kind of setup are you running?

I have not dyno’d it, but I’ll be happy if I see 500 to the wheels. Honestly it’s been sitting since I made this video, life and other hobbies keep getting in the way of finishing it up and tuning it. It’ll get there eventually!

And are they 1-7/8”?

Yeah they’re 1 7/8”. I trimmed the “ears” on my upper control arms for a set of big headers I was running on a small block years ago, and it looks like I probably would have had to do the same for these. They’re very close.

did it fit directly using this acessory kit?

Sorry, I’m not sure what you’re asking. Fitment of the motor or supercharger? The supercharger bolts right up to the truck accessory drive, as it’s designed for a full size truck using this exact setup. The head unit was too high for the hood to close, though, so I had to make some adjustments. The intercooler piping is completely different and has to be customized to fit an s10.

@@eduardom9257 if you buy motor mounts specifically for as LS swap in an s10 the engine fits perfectly in the engine bay. Depending on which headers you use, you might have to do a little hammering on the firewall and trim the control arms a bit, but nothing major. I used the stock steering shaft and did not relocate it when I had shorty headers. When I put the long tube headers on they hit the steering shaft, so I bought a hooker blackheart shaft and it fits great. The accessory drive is what came on this motor and is from a full size truck. Didn’t have to modify it to make it fit.

Current Performance mounts, as that's what the Stainless Works headers were designed to work with. They probably work fine with other brand mounts, but I wasn't chancing it. They're quality pieces and have polyurethane bushings. I've used TransDapt in the past with good results, as well.

Couldn’t tell you, it’s been on the back burner for a while now. It’s still running on the tune for the 5.3 and small cam that was in it before, so I haven’t been driving it.
