I normally end the video with that shot, but this time I changed things up a bit. Like you, I love seeing the bees clean up the honey, I find it so relaxing just to stand in the midst of them while they are at work. As a tanker truck driver, now retired, I once pickup a load of honey. The truck was capable of hauling 4000 gallons legally but they only had 3500 gallons and change on hand. I only now appreciate how long and hard it was to come up with that much honey. Wow good work guys!

Like a well oiled machine... WOW! You all knocked it outa the park. Not a drop of honey or wax goes to waste. And after the humans are done, the bees take care of the rest! Even the water used to wash down all the equipment runs outside where the bees can drink it up. You've put together an incredibly efficient operation there, and everyone brings their energy and joy to the process. Mona's quilt is stunning! Fantastic camera work too! Honey extraction day...so exciting, it never gets old. Thanks for bringing us along!

I remember when I had 5 hives and a Walter Kelly 2 frame, hand crank extractor. It took all day to process 30 frames of honey in my open air garage full of bees. I can't say I miss those days, but I hold them fondly in my heart. Oh yeah, and I only had a serrated kitchen knife to uncap the frames. Yes, I have come a long way since then, but the joy of harvesting honey is exactly the same. Thank you for sharing these videos. I recently found your channel and have been loving watching them. They bring back wonderful memories of my grandparents who kept bees. As they lived in terraced housing in industrial Preston (UK) they kept their bees in the churchyard. My Grandma used to very proudly say 'We had good Catholic bees for they never swarmed on a Sunday '.

@@JeffHorchoff Oh i been watching you and the Dirt Roosters shenanigans for years and all the video's in between.. i get lots of laughs and giggles out of all you bee keepers and i agree it's really nice seeing so many come together an enjoy helping each other out. you and Good Time Charlie and other like Yappy, Barn yard bees and JP. Y'all Just bring a wealth of information plus lots of good humor. I think it's because y'all get so sticky in sweet with honey from them bee removals lol.

Wow! That’s a lots of beautiful honey! I’m in mid-Michigan and due to the early and warm spring, early bloom of so many things our bees are so confused! Numbers are high in the hives but they aren’t putting up much honey stores yet. We are thinking we may have an early dearth and have to feed soon! Crazy! Always interesting!

The wall came out GREAT. When I first saw it being done I wasn't too sure, but wow did it come out great. AMAZING work Moana and Mr. Ed! Quite the honey haul this year. I figured it was going to be a good harvest with how good your nectar flow was this year.

The interior of the honey house is spectacular and it's all because my beautiful wife had the vision for it. And when she created the quilt for the wall, it was like the icing on the cake! Hello Mr Ed, you need to cut that centre bar out and weld two brackets on a 45 each side of the capping tank,,,😊this will allow the frames to slide all the way to the end,

I think I see a possibility to make things a bit easier: Extend and elevate one end of the rack in the drip tank and turn the frames 90 degrees. After that the frames should slide automatically onto the rack in the drip tank. Lowering the cross bar on the rack will allow the frames to slide clear to the end.

Jeff like to offer a suggestion which I think could cut your workload. If you installed a large wire mesh filter across the bottom of the drip tank to capture the capping's also set a mesh basket in the drum to capture the capping's from the extractor. It would speed the refining process.

Because the honey/wax slurry that winds up in the tank is pumped into the drum, the process is VERY quick. My interest is speed when processing honey, and there is nothing slower than honey passing through a strainer. For this reason I allow it all to mix together and come back after the processing is over and strain it at that point. I appreciate your suggestion and thank you for it and for watching. Of course you have the biggest, tallest guy kneeling down in front. Nice haul there guys. So how many still to go after these 75 boxes done? Man that is a lot of work but talk about a sweet treat in the end. Between the wax and the honey those girls have been working hard.

We ran another 25 boxes on Saturday and still have about 20 more in the bee yard here at the abbey. After next week, mall our honey will have been run and it looks like we will be well over 450 gallons of the sweet stuff. Thanks for watching. God's peace Mark. Mr. Ed

We jacked up the end of the uncapping machine to allow the slurry of honey and wax that drips to the tray to run down it into the tank. That way, I no longer had to push the squeegee down the length of the tray. in previous videos i saw you taking a bite out of a comb from a bee hive that you are removing somewhere. Obviously that has no foundation of plastic, but doesn't the wax has any bad taste to it when you take a bite like that ?
