Would it make a difference if the steel is on the softer side? They all seem to be happy with their soft steels with no heat treatment - and it seems to do the job for them somehow.

The handle is bad, the work is less than professional. In Indonesia, making a handle like that is good for only one person. Only 3 people worked on making such a tool and the results were very good.

λαβη απο δερμα χωρις κολα αναμεσα στα κομματια , μαλλον γρηγορα θα χαλαση. Αλλα δεν πειραζη θα φτιαξη αλλη ξυλινη. Προτιμω αυτο το εργαλειο , μερικες φορες απο το τσεκουρι , γιατι το θεωρω πιο ασφαλες σε αποφυγη κτυπηματων στα ποδια μου.

Part of me wants to avoid buying from countries with these unsafe work practices, but the other part of me realises these people wouldn't be able to support their families if unemployed. Moral dilemma.

No frett.....nearly all of this is for in country use .. If it did get over here you'd quickly realize the cheap cost reflects it being crap....

Everyone works with slippers on their feet. Sooner or later someone loses a foot!
