I am a born Muslim who are new to bible study. When I asked my Christian colleague whether he can get me bible, he asked me which one... I was confused. I asked another colleague about story of Prophets in a bible, he told me that his church never actually used Old Testament. Errr... so I downloaded one myself that sounds familiar. King James version. The first part I read was by Matthew. The bible is NARRATIVE, something like Al Hadith. So who was Matthew?? So was he the author of these passages? What was his relationship with Jesus? Where did he get the story? Who were the Isnad and eye witnesses... were they reliable? Were there categories like Authentic, Good and Weak version of bible? (Something we'll do, categorizing, if we learn Al Hadith) One thing Paul, you explained it simply for a simple person like me. I learned a lot by your short video. Thank you so much. Alhamdulillah. I will keep learning slowly... Insya'allah

Excellent reading, I like your narration style. Please comment on "according to" meaning when it attributes the Gospels to a name. All literatures use "by, or written by" to identify the author. Another point on ways to preserve the aural traditions, is to use speech forms like rhyming and poetry. In Arabic we have poems preserved first aurally for many decades before they were written down. In modern time these poems were used to preserve the standard Arabic. Due to their grammar, rhymes, style, eloquence, and rhythms they are considered very accurately transmitted.

I am asked by many Muslims to explain the Bible to them. They think the New Testament is revelation from God. When I tell them it is more like the "Seerah", life of the prophet PBUH and stories of the apostles they are shocked. They are more shocked when they learn that the last books are letters giving advice to early believers and Book 27 is a dream by a guy, "John" of Patmos whose identity is shrouded in mystery. Therefore there is no concrete revelation anywhere!!

This would correspond to the Quran and ahadith. Stories about Jesus would correspond to the Seerah. My intent was to point out the ignorance of muslims about the nature of the Bible and that most understand it to be delivered _in toto_ by God to Jesus PBUH.

I bet those scholars you are citing cannot point to a Bible passage to prove their 'opinions' ", I was shocked to come across this to be honest. Bart used to be a fundamentalist Christian, so much so that he decided to go to Bible college, it was there that he questioned his faith and became agnostic. I think he saw the untruths, the contradiction in the Bible. Sadly so many Christians believe that the gospels were written by people who walked with Jesus. Thus one question I would truly love to ask Bart is this. Why did June become an agnostic, surely even if the Bible is not true does not mean that God does not exist. I had my own epiphany in church. A bloke who become a Christian after life threatening cancer treatment, sadly around 10 years later the cancer returned and. Claimed his life, the church had used all its new testament faith believing that if we all prayed really hard a miracle would happen. The minister got up and said one Sunday that we.should pray that God doesn't bring Richard home. So many Christians believe God is a vending machine, put you're.money in and out pops some chocolate. An,ex friend off mine asked me why I didn't believe in God, I told him I do believe, he said I didn't as I didn't believe Jesus,. He could accept the fact that if you believe God its because you know Jesus is God. Sadly any teachings of Jesus have been corrupted and manipulated by churches for political ends. The church clings to every word Paul wrote, Paul even said all scripture comes from God 2 Tim 3 v 16 17. Talk about circular logic. Paul would have made a great salesman.

To @maurizio minni Jesus whole purpose was for political ends. People thought he was the king of kings, that's why they treated him like a king and cheered him on into Jerusalem. But his kingship didn't materialize the Romans saw to that. So now the Christians are waiting for his second coming to establish him as a King. If that is not for "political ends" then nothing is.

Daily Reminder: Try to supplicate this dua/deeds every single day to become a habit. 1. Subhana allaahi, wal hamdu lillaahi, wa la illaaha ila Allaah, wa Allaahu akbar, waLa hawla wa la quwwata illa billaah. There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allah Alone, He has no partners, He has the Dominion and for Him is all praise, and He is capable of all things, praise is for Him, and Far is Allah from imperfection, and There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, there is no capability nor is there any power except with Allah. "Then he says: Allaahumma aghfirlee. O Allah forgive me! Or he supplicates and his supplication is answered, and if he makes Wudhu and prays, then his prayer is accepted. Dhikr that prophet Muhammad SAW says you will catch up with those who are ahead of you (in deeds) and supersede those who will come after you, and nobody will be able to do such a good deed as you do except the one who does the same. When Jesus was crucified? At nine in the morning on the day *after* Passover meal was eaten, as Mark explicity says (14:12, 15:25)? Or was it in the afternoon on the Day of Preparation *before* Passover, as John explicity says (19:14, 31)? Necessarily at least one of the gospels has to be false at that point. Mark. The morning *after* the passover was eaten. John. The evening *before* the passover was eaten. He didn't die twice, did he? It cannot be both.

Dedicated to Marife S How does one believe a lie? By hearing it, not examining the facts, meditating on it and then accepting for a default position Bart Ehrman and by extension Paul have spoken things in this video that are obviously not true. Just because a book has been published or because its author has "Dr" in front of their name does not make it true. The test of truth is a dedicated research into the existing evidence utilizing reason and basic logic. I challenge anyone of the anti-christian readers of this comment to refute my first statement on the claims of this video. Please provide solid evidence and not just some silly islamic or personal rhetoric on Christianity and its writings. Remember what Paul himself stated at the start do not just receive Ehrman's words "uncritically". REFUTATION 1 - I refute Ehrman's claim that the Apostle Paul wrote 20 - 30 years after Jesus death. REFUTATION 2- I refute Ehrman's claim that theirs was solely an oral tradition. REFUTATION 3 - I refute Ehrman's claim that the gospels were all written in the later part of the 1st century. My reason: Acts should be read chronologically. Acts 12 is AD 44. Acts 18 happens for the latest AD 53. Acts 15 attests to a letter being "WRITTEN AND SENT" by the "Council of Jerusalem" to the gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia. This event took place before 53 possibly 49 AD. This is easily 19 years after Jesus death. the precedent for writing would have therefore been laid historically for us at this event. Peter James and John would have been a part of that council. Paul was a part of that council. Therefore the first stated writing of the church was made before 53 AD. The writing had to be accompanied by trusted witnesses for attestation to the recipients. Why would they have chosen to send disciples in addition to a letter? The book of Acts obviously ends (and quite suddenly at that) before 66 AD( the start of the Jewish revolt that led to temple destruction ) for sure but most likely before 64 AD when Rome burned under Nero. Expect Luke to have included these events in Acts if they happened before he began writing the history of the early church. Acts would have required time under stable conditions with access to writing material. The 'gospel of Luke' was written before Acts since it was referred to in as much in Acts. Therefore by 64/66 AD the gospel of luke would have been in 'circulation'. Luke alludes to many others composing accounts of what took place amongst "us" JUST as they were 'handed down' paredosan to "us" by the EYEWITNESSES AND SERVANTS OF THE WORD. Hence, before 64 AD other gospel accounts would have been in circulation because of the fact that Luke and Theophilus knew of them. Luke doesn't say who wrote but it can be very strongly suggested that what was handed down from the eyewitnesses were for the most part written accounts in addition to oral accounts of what had taken place. Two stages of delivery are mentioned 1) from the eyewitness and servants of the word and the 2) the many others composing accounts as well. It is interesting the use of two categories of primary delivery : that of eyewitnesses and servants of the word. This exactly describes the suggested names of the authors of the synoptics. Matthew and Mark. Matthew an eyewitness and Mark a servant of the word as potentially writing for another eyewitness. Hence for Ehrman to suggest so emphatically to you all that these gospels had their genesis in the latter part of the first century is a devilish swig at deception. Which by the way seems to be working greatly. To say that theirs was an oral tradition is circumventing the truth (when coupled with Oxyrhynchus materials) and to say of a certainty that paul wrote 20-30 years after Jesus death has no foundation in the writings under question.

One of the biggest problems with the Bible as it stands today is that it forces us to look at Hebrew and Aramaic scriptures through Greek and Latin glasses as seen by people who are neither Jews,Greeks, nor Romans. All of the so called“original”manuscripts available today are written in Greek. The verses ofJohn1:1is exactly equivalent to such verses asPsalms82:6:“I havesaid,Ye(theJews) are gods;and all of you are children of the most High”,or Exodus7:1:“And the LORD said unto Moses,See,I have made thee a god to Pharaoh”The Jews had no trouble reading such verses while still affirming that there is only one God in existence and vehemently denying the divinity of all but God almighty. It is the continuous filtration of these manuscripts through different language and cultures as well as the Roman Catholic church’s extensive efforts to completely destroy all of the original Hebrew Gospels, which has led to this misunderstanding of the verses. If I were an American, and I were to tell, for example, the citizens of China:“Hit the road men,”we would more than likely find countless people beating the street with sticks.Did they understand thewords?Yes!Did they understand the meaning? No!

I don't see a reason to believe Bart's claims regarding lack of preservation in orally transmitted traditions is applicable to Islam (even though our sources are transmitted entirely orally). Regarding ahadeeth, besides preserving the isnaad of an orally transmitted piece, we also factor into account the number of sources that relay the information and the veracity of these sources before taking in the information - if multiple sources narrate the same information nearly exactly, we can conclude the information has some degree of truth to it. (By this line of reasoning, given the different account a of the resurrection of Jesus, we have to conclude that this account can not be authenticated.) As per the Quran, the existence of multitude of hufaadh who have the entire Quran committed to memory AT EVERY POINT IN HISTORY, the preservation of the Quran almost becomes self correcting, and convergence (absence of prolific divergent variants) lends credence to this fact. Sure, varient readings exist, but these readings are synonymous in nature, and the fact that we know varient readings existed at the time of our prophet, it is not far-fetched to say that these readings are correct in general. And finally (and my favorite), the fact that Allah Almighty has explicitly promised to preserve our texts (and we do see a remarkable degree of preservation), and no such promise appears to be given to the people of the book (i.e. the christians and Jews)

Song of Solomon 4:5 Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies. Song of Solomon 8:10 I am a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favor. Similar verses are in Proverbs 7: 6-24 , Genesis 19:30-36, Leviticus 18:15 and many other verses. Isaiah 13-15 Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished. Deuteronomy 25:11-12 "If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Its 'make believe' and wishful thinking that people meticulously memorised the sayings and teachings of Jesus and then passed and transmitted it equally as meticulously down the generations and across the lands ... for it to be eventually written down precisely as it happened at the time of Jesus. And then people quote and debate the exact meanings of 'Jesus' words' in those written accounts. Makes no sense. An all powerful creator who wanted to give a reliable message for all of humanity for all time would not use that method for conveying that message. I could think of a better way than that - so what kind of all powerful creator would fail at this task. The reply surely cannot be that he wants us to close our eyes and open our heart and just have faith, otherwise he will throw us in hell. Because then that argument could be used by any of the thousands of beliefs out there.

JESUS IN HINDUISM PART-2 ATONEMENT FOR SINS: Thertiriya Aranyaka verse 3 says, “Sarvapapa pariharo raktha prokshna mavasyam” which means, that the redemption is through shedding of blood only. For this purpose God allowed mankind to sacrifice animals, in order to make them realize that there is a penalty for everyone’s sins. Though the animal’s blood is not a substitute, it was expected that man would repent and turn away from his sinful ways, by seeing the blood of the animal which is being shed on his behalf. But mankind started practicing it just as a ritual, and thus came into condemnation. If mankind were to be saved from this predicament, as Thertiriya Aranyaka 3rd verse says again, “…thad raktham Paranatmena punyadena baliyagam” which means, that blood has to be through the sacrifice of God himself. The Purusha Sukta says, there is no other way other than the sacrifice of Purusha Prajapati. Purushao vava yagna (Chandokya Upanishad 3.16.1), God, the Purusha is the sacrifice. Sama Veda Dandiya Mahabhramanam says, “Prajapathi devapyam aathmanam yagnam kruthva prayachita” which means, God will offer himself as a sacrifice for the redemption of mankind. Sathpatha Bhramanam says, “Prajapathi yagnayaga”. VEDIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SACRIFICIAL PURUSHA: The Rig Veda specifies ten important requirements for the sacrificial Purusha. SHOULD BE WITHOUT A BLEMISH (NISHKALANGA PURUSHA): Kaatyaayana Srautasootram describes in chapter six, that water and fire were to be used for the purification of the animals, since blameless (defectless) animals are not available in this world. THE PURUSHA HAS TO BE SEPARATED FROM OTHERS: While sacrificing the horse, the sacrificial horse is always separated from other horses. A bush of thorns is usually placed on the head of the horse to inform the people that this horse is separated for the sacrifice. Also the head of the horse is considered to represent the Purusha (Sathapatha Brahmana 13th kanda, 6.2.2). THE PURUSHA HAS TO BE REJECTED BY HIS OWN PEOPLE: In Itareya Brahmana it is written that the sacrificial animal should be rejected by its father, mother, brother, sister and friends (2.16). THE YAGNA PURUSHA HAS TO SUFFER SILENTLY: Rig Veda 5.46.1 says, “Like a horse I have yoked myself, well knowing to the pole. I seek neither release nor turning back”. THE PURUSHA HAS TO BE TIED TO A POST: In Satapata Brahmana it is written, never do they immolate an animal without tying it to a pole. “Na varute yapaat pasum alabhate kadachana (III-7.3.1)”. It is important to tie the animal to a sacrificial pillar before it is sacrificed. This pillar is called “Yupastampa (sacrificial pillar)”, which has now become a flag mast. THE BLOOD OF THE SACRIFICIAL MAN SHOULD BE SHED: Bruhat Aranyaka Upanishad (3.9.28.2) says, “Tvacha evasya rudhiram, prasyandi tvacha utpatah, Tasmaattadarunnaat praiti, raso vrukshadi vahataat”. As the sap comes of the cut tree, blood comes out of the Purusha who is cut. THE SACRIFICED ANIMAL’S BONES SHOULD NOT BE BROKEN: In Itareya Brahmana 2.6 it is stated that the sacrifice separates the twenty-six ribs of the animal without breaking them. THE SACRIFICED PURUSHA SHOULD RETURN TO LIFE: The Bruhat Aranyaka Upanishad says, “Yad Vruksho vrukshano rohati, mulannavatharah punah, martyah svinmrutyuna vruknah, kasmaanmulaat prarohati, Retasa iti maavocata, jivatastat praja yate, dhanaruh a iva val crau vruksho, anjasaa pretya sammbhava”, which means, if the tree is cut, it will grow again from its root. But after the man (martyah) was cut off by death, from which root does he come forth? Do not say that he is from the ratas (seed or semen) because ratas comes from the one who lives. Remember this man is dead. But this man (Purusha) comes alive on his own. THE FLESH OF THE PURUSHA SHOULD BE EATEN BY HIS SAINTS: In Satapata Brahmana (5.1.1.1,2) we find that Prajapati gave Himself up to them, thus the sacrifice became theirs, and indeed the sacrifice is the food of the gods (saints). THE SACRIFICE IS FOR ALL: Verse 8 in Purusha Sukta explains, Tasmaad yagnatsarvahutah, pasuntamscakre voayaryaa, naananyaan gramyaasca ye. By that sacrifice, all these originated: sprinkled ghee and all kinds of animals of the sky, forest and country. The significance of sprinkled ghee represents the original sacrifice. Verse 9 of Purusha Sukta says: Tasmaad yagnat sarvahuta, nucha samaari jagnire, Chandaamsi jagnine, tasmaad yajustas naada jaayatah. From that sacrifice, Purusha offered everything that he had, including the Rig, Sama, Yazur Vedas and the Chandas (sacred writings). HOW METICULOUSLY THESE VEDIC REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN FULFILLED IN JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH: JESUS CHRIST WAS WITHOUT ANY BLEMISH: In the Bible it is written, “Do not bring anything with a defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf” (Leviticus 22:20). “Whether male or female, present before the Lord an animal without defect” (Leviticus 3:1). “In Him (Jesus Christ) there was no sin”

Man can forgive others *Matthews 2:4-10* _Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, _*_they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it_*_ and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, _*_your sins are forgiven_*_ .” Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of _*_Man has authority on earth to forgive sins_*_ .”_ *Asy Syuura **42:40* _The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but _*_if a person forgives_*_ and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah. for ((Allah)) loveth not those who do wrong._

You have certainly proven the point; university educated people are educated out of whatever God-given intelligence they ever had in the first place & there is little chance of them ever becoming Christians & being able to understand Almighty God's message, doctrines & commandments.

Still, "Jesus" isn't the Most High. Christians just want an idol after themselves. Christianity is a branch of Rome and nothing more. A greko-roman sun worshipping religion that wants to bring everyone into subjugation to the Pope.

Each of your videos is educational. What you have presented is very reasonable. The way you present arguments from scholarly books and evidence from history gives people a sense that they want to verify your words. They want to see if these words are correct. So your audience need time to verify your argument.
