So, this probiotic lemonade is so easy to make and good for you. This fermented food is power packed with probiotics. Unlike Kombucha that needs a scoby this can be made with simple ingredients that are sitting around your house.
This drink supports your digestive system and is beneficial in so many other ways. You can also substitute the lemons for limes and even oranges. The whole family will love it and you will to.

About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.

In the UK a good few years ago we had a TV series (with a book tie-in) by Gillian McKeith who advocated exactly what you're saying Stacy. She would put whole families on a totally new diet for 2 months and at the end the results were amazing. They all lost a load of weight but many of them cured medical issues e.g. Got off tablets for Blood Pressure & Type 2 Diabetes. That was the first time I found out that a highly acidic diet didn't suit me at all. I tried it again with Carol Vorderman. It's a great example though of how the diet of "yesteryear" that our Grandparents & ancestors followed which required some time, not just growing our food but preparing and cooking it is the way we should still be eating. What we eat now, may be a time-saver in the kitchen but the "Convenience " is quite literally killing us.

webbsway She certainly knows her stuff when it comes to nutrition and diet. She shot herself quite spectacularly in the foot though a couple of years ago. She went into the I'm a Celebrity jungle and made a right fool of herself, She proved to be phobic about everything from the aeroplane to the dirt, and terrified of anything that flew, swam or crawled. It cut her TV career stone dead and it's a shame because she really knew her stuff. I don't know what she's doing these days, she may have moved back to the USA.

Essem Sween I think this is why all the old time photographs from before convenience foods came to be have primarily thin people in them. Most of the food came from farms, not shipped from overseas, and “supercenters” did not exist. Food was mostly whole and unadulterated back then.

Cooking starts at @10:27. The recipe for 1/2 gal is: Juice of 6-8 lemons 1/2 cup approx. whey 1/2 cup raw sugar or Sucanat (R) 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg Filtered water to make 1/2 gal. Don't use chlorinated water. Dump the first 4 ingredients in the jar. Fill with water. Put on the lid and shake like a maniac. Put it in a dark place and let it ferment 2-3 days according to temperature and taste. Store in refrigerator. Taste improves by keeping it in the fridge a few days. See the video for details.

I had a very moderate case of IBS and since we’re all in quarantine I’ve forced myself to saturate my gut with high potency probiotics, kefir, fermented foods, and have cut out fast foods and eating out of course. It’s made a WORLD of a difference!!!! Looking back, it was clear that I was blind at how bad my problem really was, but not anymore. And I’ll never let myself get to that point ever again. Hi Stacy, absolutely love your videos, I'm learning a lot. I am so amazed at all the knowledge God has guided you to learn. Thank you for sharing that with all of us. I am learning about fermenting from you and I want to start doing it. I've been drinking Kumbucha for several years but I did not know I should not be drinking thee same thing over and over. So I am going to try and make your fermented Lemonade. I am not a homesteaded, wish I was. I need to try using the water keifer because my kids are whole food based eating. Looking forward to making it. Keep your teachings coming!

Fermenting for health...I love love love lemonade. I stopped drinking all forms of soda three months ago and stopped all juices sold in stores. So i basically drinking filter water, tea and coffee. The coffee in limited amounts once or twice a week. I founded your channel yesterday while looking for fermentation videos. I came across stacy's video of fermentation with whey. As I watch I thought...where do I get whey from. Then she mention the yogurt. I smiled because I have a pint of plain organic yogurt in the fridge and cheese cloth in the cabinet. I normally eat the yogurt with homemade jam. I'm going to give the whey and salt fermentation a try but first I need to hit the farmers market. Thank you for the information and God Bless:-)

You might try making your own kombucha (fizzy probiotic drink). Really easy once you get used to it. I make it in large pickle jars, then rebottle. Can do a second ferment buy just adding little pcs of fruit to each bottle. If you need ideas, just stand in the kombucha section of your grocery or health food store.
