It’s customary for the servers in high end restaurants in France to pour a little bit of the hot chocolate into the cup when serving. It’s for the customer to try it out because the customer might find it too thick or strong that they might want to cut it down with hot water

That was a very good review. Thank you! My wife and I love Paris and have been to Angelina many times. We usually go for breakfast including some pastries and an omelette. We really like it and agree that the hot chocolate is the best we’ve ever had. At the end of the video, you were at Place Vendôme. The column in the center was built by Napoleon to commemorate his victory at the Battle Austerlitz. It’s a beautiful section of the city.

Good hot chocolate looking from the texture. My favourite especially with the taste of cacao and the less liquid form that is usually served with high content of sugar. Both pastry boutiques look good and their pastries look so beautiful.. a real piece of art. Thank you for sharing both boutiques with us. Lastly i hope both of you managed to burn off the excess sugar of the day. Good weather calls for a good long walk. Enjoy Paris while you are there.

Hi, I have a question about how you guys made the reservation for the table at Cedric Grolet Opera? I want to go try their pastries next month too. I tried booking via their online reservation system, but it only shows breakfast and tea time options. Did you guys call to make a reservation there? Thanks for the great video!

Hi Nicole, we booked the table through their online reservation system, back then it only shows time slots instead of 'breakfast' or 'tea time', perhaps they've changed it 😅 Sorry we couldn't be of more help. Glad you've enjoyed this episode & we look forward to see you in the next one! 😋

We'll be back this week! Sorry for the 2 weeks hiatus as we're really trying to sort out stuff back home and probably got way over our heads trying to film and edit while we were in Paris, it wasn't easy hahaha 😂

I was expecting a review of kuih koci and kuih bingka ubi and kopi O at the local hawker centre. I was incredibly shocked when I saw the exorbitant prices in the French restaurants. Think of how many pieces of kuih koci and kuih bingka ubi and cups of kopi O you could have got for those prices.

Angelina is a classic, but very touristy and totally overpriced for what you get. Cedric Grolet is excellent, but a bit expensive and definitely not worth waiting more than 20 minutes if you don’t have a reservation.

That’s a lot of sugar for one day. Exponentially more than the daily recommended sugar requirement
