Shawn Michaels is a WWE Hall of Famer who carries the nickname "Mr Wrestlemania" as well as the "Heartbreak Kid". Shawn Michaels began his legendary career in San Antonio, TX. From there he would reach the highest levels in WWE/WWF and AWA.
Shawn Michaels started out with tag team partner Marty Jannetty as "The Rockers". After smashing Jannetty through the Barber Shop window, Michaels struck out on his own by adding Sherri Martel as his manager. He went on the win the WWF 1995 Royal Rumble after entering number one. From Intercontinental Champion to World Champion, Michaels had a career most wrestlers would envy. Shawn had a reputation in the 1990s but later turned to the church and repented for his behavior in the past.

What Black Bart said about the end result in the fights between the rockers resonates with what a few people ( the Bulldogs, The Killer Bees, Tito Santana, Marty Jannetty) have said over the years: Jannetty would beat Shawn every time they would lock horns. When asked about how many Marines Shawn fought when he lost his smile and wallet, Jannetty laughed and said "brother, I love Shawn, but that boy can't fight his way out of a kindergarten."

I have a great memory of Shawn Michaels, I remember I came home one day in Tampa and I got home early because there was a wwf show down the block from my wife and my house. So I came home after a hard days work and I went upstairs and I found my wife naked in bed with Shawn Michaels. He jumped up and said I can explain I said no need. I walked back downstairs I knew my marriage was over he came down and put his arm around me and said, "listen man, I...look I..." He had a guilty look on his face and said to me in a soft tone "man look I....I'm just a sexy boy, ok? But I'm not a boy toy. I'm a sexy boy. And I'm definitely not HER boy toy. Listen man she thinks I'm hot, she knows I'm sexy, her knees got weak when I was around. She saw me walk. She heard me talk. And next thing you know I made her feel like she was on cloud 9." So I completely understood. Great guy.

It didnt get real bad until by earliest '96ish...Even Bret says they were friends before shawn started having the back issues which led to the drugs. In the late 80s early 90s they had massive respect for each other as the best of the new generation which is about athleticism and great matches now instead of hogan and his skyscraper foils. They were cohesively at the head of the movement that changed pro wrestling after steroids fucked shit up. And they both were acknowledging of each other.. Until the pain killers.

@@davidtokash4701 It's not *everyone* Shawn worked with. It was other wrestlers who were also, to some degree, assholes as well. Bret has admitted that obviously Shawn's huge drug problem back then put him in a bad place. He clearly knew about it because Bret talked about it in the Calgary Sun before Montreal and he really ripped into Shawn personally. They were literal rivals for the top spot so it's easy to see how that got out of hand. But then look at someone like Mick Foley. He came from another company, he worked with Shawn. Tell me the bad stories you hear from Mick about working with Shawn and this was in his prime 1996 dickish phase. There aren't any because Mick Foley is a decent and nice human being. When he wrestled Shawn on houseshows and he knew Shawn had a bad back he told him he wasn't going to let him take any bumps. How many guys would have done that? People get back what they put into the world and I think that Shawn was absolutely a dick, but the people to this day carrying around a grudge because they didn't make it big in the WWE and want to blame that on Shawn Michaels are people who wouldn't have made it even if Shawn wasn't there.

But her story speaks to his character as a human being more than any other story and probably before his personal issues started to make him into a bit of a monster. But her story of a guy who went to make sure he was with his wife for her graduations before going back to work, asking a stranger to tie his tie for him and the way Sherri kept a spare glove for him because he liked the feel of the fabric.... that's just nice stuff.

My parents aren’t wrestling fans but they took my brother and I to SummerSlam 92 at Wembley and the only match they remember is Shawn Michaels’s match & the Undertaker’s (as I was a big Undertaker fan). But my mum says she enjoyed the “pretty boys” match (Shawn Michaels Vs Rick Martel) over Sherri. She also took my brother, my best friend and I to a house show in Exeter (Devon) which is 40 miles from our home city Plymouth and we were surprised WWF came to Exeter as it’s off the “big city” map (WWE will go to London, Birmingham, Manchester & Liverpool mainly) but we didn’t get the main WWF wrestlers except Lex Luger all the rest were mid card guys at best so I was disappointed, but thinking now I can understand why the big stars (except a heel Lex or he might have just turned babyface) as why are they gonna go to a small city (Exeter is Devon’s capital city but Plymouth is bigger and have a larger population) even the Romans stopped at Exeter when they invaded England and never got to Plymouth or Cornwall that’s how unimportant we’re made to feel despite Plymouth being a main naval city for 500+ years and we had all the nuclear weapons in Plymouth
