    For live coverage I understand hopping back and forth between the matches since they are played at the same time and there is at the very least time between games where there isn't so much to cover in that match. That being said, for posting online it would be nice to see each of these top 8 matches in full. Even if that would mean no commentary for the matches.

    I am just new to MTG (literally started last week), and was wondering why all these decks seem to run waaaay less landcards than is advised for beginners, which is 22-24 I believe. It seems that they aren't even running too many 'get landcard from you deck' cards to me, but I might be wrong since the gameplay is too quick for me at some points. Can someone elaborate?

  • @ihaveapipebombinmyass

    @ihaveapipebombinmyass

    They use a lot of small mana cards, so they don’t need as much land as normal.

    this is like ultra late. but in terms of the deck played by reid and owen they are playing vessel of nascency, grapple with the past, nissas pilgrimage etc to get more lands or other cards. but in the case of LSV and yuta they are playing a more aggressive/tempo style deck with a smaller mana curve which means they dont necessarily need 25+ lands and can have a few more spells like was also mentioned

    It was cast though - it went on the stack. It didn't resolve because of Queller. This is the same as how countering a Bloodbraid Elf doesn't stop the Cascade trigger because Cascade goes on the stack on cast of BBE, not on resolution.

  • @nomukun1138

    So many of Luis's creatures had three toughness, casting Kozilek's Return would be a waste of three mana unless he could immediately cast Emrakul. He was pressured the whole game. He must've decided he never had a good opportunity.

    Traverse the Ulvenwald seems to be a pretty big lynchpin for the main decks, even supplanting Collected Company, and I'd argue CoCo was the best, so one of those two as supportive cards that make their respective decks tick.

    did that gnarlwood dryad live after blocking a powered up sylven advocate the first emrakul turn??? game 3 of owen vs yuta??? seems like Owen had an extra deathtouch blocker when he was on the back foot just after the 55 minute mark the camera was on Owen's face instead of the table so I couldn't see. But what other way could that have played out? jace was -3: flashback don't cast.so it's not his +1: "-2/-0" ability... this is really giving me grief. how many judges are watching this match?

  • @TorwinAllods

    He flashback declaration in stone on the Sylvan Advocate, hence getting a clue token. Pretty easy to spot that if you just watch it a couple of times :) Hope this helps. Try not to get (or at least sound) so stressed. Judges and players got nothing wrong at all in this play.

    Speaking of game three, when Yuta CC and got Ref. Mage. If he would of sent the Gnarlwood back instead of Emakrul he would of had lethal with the advocate , LF, , and Ref. Mage. it was like 13 dmg with a tapped emarkul and a pilgrams eye untapped. bad call to bounce the tapped Emakrul. IMO

Yet Gaby get's this job and the monitoring job. bollox, she got the job because she likes magic and know a bit about it, and is gorgeous. literally she's famous now because of her looks. The shameful thing is, she believes everything she has in life was earned the hard way. When really, she has everything she has because she's beautiful. and people just give beautiful people lots of shit they didin't earn
