A delightful thing happened recently: I don't recall which of her new, original songs was being discussed, but the work was being 'accused' of too much autotune. The actual sound engineer who worked it jumped in and commented that he used none, that (as you say above), she doesn't need it.

14 years old! I have been watching her performances since she was 10 and saw her 2017 The Voice Ukraine performance. She has improved so much since then and is already excellent. I am a little afraid of what she will be accomplishing over the next 4 years if she continues with all of her hard work and continues her training. I have heard people say she must have been born with natural talent but I believe her talent is 90% passion, diligence, effort and training. She seems dedicated.

This is a beautiful piece. I’ve heard a few of Daneliya’s covers and appreciate her talent greatly. Kind of fun for me when - as a result of my love of one artist - I discover other artists. (Daneliya is from Kazakhstan…). I don’t go out of my way to listen to her (a little out of my usual musical wheel house), but appreciate her talent every time I hear her. Another Kazakh talent I found is Ninety One. Previously with five members, they now are down to four. They’ve been very popular for a few years and have an interesting social message that involved one of the members becoming an elected politician in order to represent his country’s youth.

Very nice cover of "Runaway by Daneliya!" The original version of the song (one of AURORA's first singles which was released 6 years ago) has been reborn and gone viral this year, in part through activity on TikTok and the associated digital duets with AURORA, so now the song is becoming much more widely heard, and young artists are discovering it and creating new versions. This cover is one of the best I've heard!

I wouldnt add Courtney to the list as she is unnecessarily over the top. Diana needs to control that deep contralto. I think she tends to overuse it. Her voice is very nice without it That and her looks, she will have a long career. Daneliya has been all over the map. With this performance, she has found her niche.I hope she sticks with it. Angelina is that rarity that comes every 10 generations. At 15, she is still 10 years away from full vocal maturity. She has complete command over her voice and fully understands how to use it.

Excellent reaction...I don't like too many runs either. Some singers, like Christina Aguilera, have a voice capable of doing it well. Sometimes it is overdone. They do it because they can do it, not because it should be done. As to this song, Daneliya is one of my favorite singers but...it seems she is a little emotionally detached in this song. It could be that I end up comparing this version to Aurora's. This is one of Aurora's premier songs and she throws everything into it. You feel the fervent emotions of a child of 7 and older whose thoughts take her away out into the world ("Runaway") until finally she longs to be home, "Take me home where I belong". She lived it. She wrote it. She sang it. Nearly impossible for another singer to duplicate that.

I'm fine with the fact that you don't feel as attached to Daneliya's. That's cool. I get no attachment to Aurora's and I love her music. Daneliya chose to be a singer and worked her way up. I fail to see how asking others for mentoring and guidance is "unfair". Does a baseball player who consistantly has a high batting average have an unfair advantage over another, simply because he took batting practice, more than another naturally talented player? Of course not. What made him succeed wasn't the coaching. It was the practice- the learning and the drive to better oneself. You sound like you're just trying to disqualify Daneliya's talent by tossing in some arbitrary arguement. If anything would be proven by your assertion, it is that Daneliya had to work harder, because she wasn't singing in this style, when she first started singing.

Nowhere in this recording was the pitch of her voice is changed. That is her natural tone, with a little reverb thrown in for effect.

@@melocotoy I don't understand your question. There is no autotune here. Autotune can be used to correct for pitch or for special effects. Neither is evident here.

Sorry she is no Aurora. Not even close . She needs to do her own songs instead of a wanna be Aurora.

I just don't understand why some Aurora 'warrior' fans get so indignant and defensive whenever some other singer covers an Aurora song. Lots of artists have done covers of "Runaway" - do you object to all of these covers, or just to Daneliya's? (Perhaps you feel threatened because Daneliya is such an amazing talent in her own right....). Anyway, even the most established and famous singers have done covers of other artists' work. I suppose that when Jimi Hendrix did his cover version of Bob Dylan's song "All Along the Watchtower", there were some ardent Dylan fans who objected as well. But not Dylan himself - he actually told Hendrix that after hearing his cover, "Watchtower" was now Hendrix' song. In short - to borrow a quote from Shakespeare - "Me thinks thou dost protest too much!".

Tom you may need to get your hearing aid adjusted. This cover was mind-blowingly beautiful.

@@RedRider1848 Yes. What about many singers doing covers of Dolly Parton's "I will always love you".
