Pro’s Guide to Tactical Tracking | The End Of The Track | Episode 5

We're in the eleventh hour of the tracking pursuit. The gathered intel suggests a quarry is not local to this area, giving our trackers a bit of an edge. Boris shows the tactics used by the US Border Patrol when following coyotes (human traffickers and drug runners) along the Mexico-US border.

Kudos on your series really well done guys your lead tracker is very skilled. I am a Cherokee tracker taught by Stalking Wolf. I've just started a KZread channel where I will be sharing things to try to keep people a little bit safer. I'm 76 years old so I've been at this quite a while. Over 45 years tracking the Selahtick First Nation's People... Commonly known as the Sasquatch. My goal and doing this work is to get their treaty given them by President Andrew Jackson back in the 1800s; restored and their lands returned to them. And to get people to stop abusing them with their hairbrained obsession with trying to prove their existence. I teach tracking and six traditional martial arts.. in addition to being a tracker I am a still actively training Godan Bujinkan Ninjutsu instructor. My school of the wind dragon is not a way, religion nor a business. Is quite easy for me to find people interested in martial arts but it's easier for me to have close contact and interaction with the Sasquatch then it is to find people who are worthy of learning the tracking skills and training to go with me on adventures in the wilderness there just aren't that many really good serious people in this world. I'm simply looking for a few students good enough to go with me for mostly I've had to do this all alone and it's rather dangerous work for a man 76 years old to be doing alone. sehingfranciswinddragonschool@gmail.com feel free to veiw a short first video clip by clicking the icon bubble beside my comment here on my channel on utube under heading " slice and dice."

And everyone who hates them like many people do are the first one to ask them for help when in trouble. And after that again speak everything bad about them even if they have saved their lives. Good luck to everyone who risk their live for keeping peace and saving others lives.

I'm the team lead for our counties SAR tracking team and was looking for something to recommend to new members and honestly, to grow myself. As this video conveyed, tracking isn't just a bunch of gimmicks strung together but a bit of a life style... always a student and as one instructor told us, "you don't know how much you don't know about this subject until you get well into it". Very well done Mr. Vos. Thank you & please give us more.

What a great series. And as an African (From South Africa) it is great to know guys like these are part of protecting our wildlife against those filthy poachers. They are brutal and deserve what is coming to them. Here in South Africa we have a massive issue with Rhino horn poachers, they just cut off rhinos horns and leave them bleeding and in pain. It is disgusting. These guys risk their lives every day to keep our animals safe. The African bush is something else, it's really amazing. Well done to all park rangers and anti-poaching units for all the work they do. Legends

Rain makes sign age very quickly, and will make it difficult. Sometimes, in the right substrate, it works to your advantage. Tracking in Ireland, in the Sleeve Bloom Mountains, I saw students (day3) track in the pouring rain, because the very resilient vegetation will remain pressed down due to the downpour. After rain is the best time for tracking!

AS an LEO, we often have man-hunts. Having said that, I have never had the time to sketch footprints. That would be extremely time consuming. If we needed to visually document, we simply take a few quick photos. I'm not bashing these techniques at all, but rather simply wondering why not take a quick photo and stay in the hunt. It seems to me that you are allowing the individuals more time to evade or come in contact with other people who may then be put in harms way. Of course, we set up a perimeter and try to keep them in a specific geographical area. Maybe in this scenario, you don't have the man-power. Regardless, most all of the techniques shown are pretty valid. Good job.

Good question mate. I would definitely take pictures as well, and if it's LE, you need forensics in there as well. The reason for drawing is that I find it's a great way to study the track. Regardless of skill level, you need to make sure that impression is imprinted in your mind. Go too fast too soon, and you find you lose the track and are not able to re-establish. It also allows me to highlight those areas that show the identifying characteristics of the tread pattern I'm following for quick reference. Lastly, it helps me if I find only partials The drawing helps me to add detail as I find more further down the track, without having to flick through a set of photos on a camera or phone.

Retired U.S. Army Abn / 75th Ranger / Pathfinder and instructor for JOTC Panama and Belize . Correct on sketching in this day and age of good quality cell phone photos . Another option to consider is a professional UV light for detecting urine and blood . A prior video shows a cigarette butt being looked at , but not retrieved and collected in a ziplock bag . I'm talking DNA and collecting takes just a few seconds . ATB

@@borisvos1971 golly you're you're good. I mean I'm really impressed that was a really good reply. The feller that taught me talk taught the famous Tom Brown jr. About the same time that he was teaching Tom and my grand pa Joe an Arapahoe Tracker and Cherokee shamen and Stalking Wolf's best friend. I really don't like modern technology and so I really appreciated your answer to this fella's comment ... And I must admit that I wouldn't have thought of such a good answer. And you just you taught me something new.I've never really liked the way that the white man learns things...and though I've been raised in the white man world I've tried to have learned some of his ways and adopted some. When it came to taking notes and all of that stuff it just left me cold. in my martial arts are there are quite a few people that keep journals and take notes and make a little drawings and I completely reject that kind of thing but in this case that's really true everything you said was right spot on so now I guess I'll be taking a little scribble pad along with me dang your hide. Thank you Boris for teaching an old dog SOG a new trick. 😁

My full respect to you Guys! You managed to do an interesting, exciting video with an awesome teacher and an hell of an plot twist! For me as an hunter it's heart warming to see how someone care's about those animals with the passion they earn it. Congratulations, to UF Pro. But a huge "thank you" out of the bottom of my heart to Boris Vos and especially to the Park Rangers out there!

Somehow I know from episode one that we would be ending up at a pub, ha. I feel I have learned a lot from this series. I learned the basics tracking animals when I was young, but never got human specific tracking training.

Splendid, outstanding, wonderful, fantastic and all the other nice work in the world. Keep it up and STAY SAFE!

Boris & UFPRO you guys hit the nail on the head. Tracking now a days is a lost art in the western world we have drones, satellite, thermals but is a vital part of "war". Thanks for the insight into tracking! P.s cause you do a series of 4x man urban and rural maneuvers and tactics, or tactical communication. Thanks again!
