The methods are simple! Queue up a bunch of expensive units, then tab over to seed some farms and forget about the units completely

This was a fun game to watch. We don't really know how wheels was reacting in person afaik, but through his text he might think this is a real struggle, and we have Hera thinking he stands no chance multiple times, and both not realizing both players are seemingly thinking the same thing, at least as far as the end game. I can understand from wheels perspective how the difference in micro can seem insurmountable (according to that one comment he made), but Hera is overestimating the impact of the wealth differences by not fully comprehending what a lesser skilled player would do with it, his expectations from higher elo games hiding the average "mistakes" lesser skilled players would make. It's that idea that once you become really good at a game, you have fogotten what it's like to struggle as a new (or newer) player. Everything seems easy to you, but you don't realize how far the gap in skill is. On the flip side, you see a player do things that don't seem possible, and good players don't think about how discouraging it can be to know that you are not even half as good as the person you're playing against. That being said, Hera loses, but I still bet wheels was close to thinking the same thing after experiencing those trades and not really knowing how far Hera's economy could take him. Also I think the rematch would be the better game to watch, anyway, because now both players have understanding of what difference the handicap makes and are better prepared for it, seen in the way that Hera thinking about the many ways he could lose the game right there and what comp to go for, which is interesting insight to how the best players can make a judgement based on the way the game feels and end up being the correct choice in the longterm. Maybe worth noting too that I never play this game and really only watch youtube videos about it for some reason, I'm probably less than 600 elo at these types of games, but I'm probably fairly high in FPS games, so I'm coming from the perspective that I know what it's like to be good at one thing and really suck at another. I can perfectly imagine the things I would struggle with in this type of matchup, and I'm no where near as good as wheels. Most of the time I'm not even thinking about some of the things other better players apparently do. I'm thinking about why my farms aren't lining up straight, or how I think I have plenty of resources, I guess I should randomly research something because why not, and maybe if I make it to Imperial with an aesthetically pleasing city with walls and 1-2 of every building that it will be enough to carry me to victory.

Lmao Hera you exactly read my mind, I was thinking while watching that this is like one of those tower defense games where you fight endless hordes of zombies, it doesn't matter if your k/d is good you still might lose.

2:00 Good stuff. I started deleting walls on Arena because of these videos. It opens up so much more space!

You should do a 1v2 vs pros by taking a 150%, or maybe 175% handicap. Hera vs Daut + Lierrey would be one helluva video.

i dont remember wining 150%handicap extreme ai, but i have definitely wining against 135%handicap one, but that one was when i hard rush ai at feudal age, and you know how easy it is to win when ai getting rushed down early, but even that you just dont win against ai at certain point with higher and higher handicap, i do understand hera's situation a bit here after tried out 200% handicap ai, it is a brave move for him to chellenge a booming map against handicap player, respect man,

That was surprisingly even. Shame that Feels probably does not have extra experience with playing with bonus as it makes units with bonus dmg such as trash units extra strong, stream of skirmishers into that horse grinder would go a long way vs those pikes.

Handicap in ao2 is seriously busted. In my oppinion you should have a handicap menue where you can take handicaps on only certain aspects. Like 150% more starting ressources and unit health, but not just ramp up everything so insanely. I do remember Hera with 200% handicap against 7 players, just rolling like a breeze. That was comical.

The only way to beat 150% handicap is to attack early and over power. I (1k) played a 800 elo player with 25% handicap, and by keeping the pressure on from feudal, I was able to win.

K/D was 1181 to 663 BTW, Hera quickly clicked on the military tab. +500 Kills is insane, especially with more HP and bonus damage for him.

40 skirms are away better than those thousands of light cav 😅

Interesting - 150 looks too strong (as you said) to the point of absurdity. Try 140 and see if that plays out better I guess - the right number is out there somewhere for a good balance.

Hello! I am the opponent in this video. I'm fully aware that halbs counter cav, but I also knew that gold was my win condition and with 50% faster farmers it was cost efficient to trade 20 LC for one onager. It was a conscious decision based on my inferior unit control and multitasking abilities.
