There's a FFXIV version of this that has a more modern take on this.

The entire E raids are filled with subtle references to FF8, and some not so subtle ones. Not to mention Shaodwbringers also brought us Squall's job, Gunbreaker. XIV is just a playground for people who know the series, and for those who love it now, the rest of the series is a playground for you too now.@@Falindae
