Pro-Line Trenchers (1170-12) on HPI Savage Xs Flux

Ойын-сауық

I got the pro-line trenchers 2.8 mounted on desperado wheels (part #1170-12). These are my thoughts about them and how you can install them on your HPI Savage XS Flux.
I need to improve in my speech skill. XD

    Thanks to this video I got the tires and stuffed them on my Savage XS. They look great! The car backflips super-easy now, even with wheelie bar. I didn't initially gear down my truck, but a couple of batteries in - my ESC died. So new ESC and geared it down - and so far so good. Other than that, the turning radius is quite a bit worse than with the normal tires. However, the car is so much more fun to drive now! Especially on grass, which with these tires it actually manage to fly over. So all in all I'm super happy with my truck now with these tires. Might try out Badlands in the future - as they are somewhat thinner, and should allow for greater turning radius.

    Ok, it seems you have the TF-40 (same as me). You want to adjust the steering dual rate, which will determine how much the tires (well the servo in reality) will turn for both left and right. This is the knob that have the D/R on it, just adjust it until it does not touch the body or you're happy with how much they turn. Remember, decreasing the amount of travel means wider turns, increasing it will mean closed turns. Here is the the link for the TF-40 manual, hope it helps:www.hpiracing.com/assets/documents/instruction_manuals/105386-tf40_rf40-glb-m-v1.pdf

    Glad it helped, that's why I made the video so other would benefit from it and get the right tires/wheels. ;)

    I believe is the wheel offset. The 1170-13 would be closer to the Savage (in this case) and probably the tires will be touching the body all the time. Check Pro-Line's webpage, there you'll be able to notice the difference in the pictures.

    Because I liked them. Had no other experience with tires for fast cars so I decided based looks.

    do you know the size difference between these and the ones proline makes for the mini e-revo which come on 2.2's ? would they be a good choice as well ?

  • @nukerc

    Well, I did not change any of them. So far, I haven't break anything and haven't had the "sudden death" with any of the electronics. Keep in mind that I'm running 7.2v 2S lipo rather than 3S.

    Hallo What is the difference of proline trencher 2.8 1170-13 and the 1170-12 Thank you

  • @nukerc
    @nukerc11 жыл бұрын

    Well, as far as pro-line webpage info, they are smaller, but they use 12 mm hex, so they should fit the plastic hex that comes with the savage. I think they would work, have in mind that what comes stock in the savage are also 2.2. Still, the 2.8 looks just monstrously on the car XDD.

    Great Video. Does the Motor/ESC get very much hotter using the Trenchers?

    Well, I haven't done a comparison with the stock tires. The closest thing I can say is that the motor does not get so hot that is unbearable to the touch. I guess there is some luck involved since I haven't had any issues with the motor/esc.
