I changed my gearing like it said in this video to the 3s setup and also got the tyres. The problem with doing this is my 2s batteries when using them in the truck swell up should this be right. I have ended up wasting money throwing 2s lipos away. If I do put a 3s in it will that do the same.

Well said, Blownutsmyass. I just got a Savage Flux Hp of craigslist for $380 I'm so happy brand new they are still over $600, great steal I got.

The sad thing is the suspension handles all the bumps and crashes just fine, but the drive-train was never meant to handle the full torqueof the motor/esc on lipo. I also built a wheely bar and that was a mistake. I eliminated the slipper clutch because of the silly green gummy material, and then I could really run wide open on 3s without worrying about it flipping over. This resulted in the total destruction of the idler and drive gear in the transmission being completely decimated.

ONLY RUN ON NIMH, unless you want to activate self destruct mode. In which case go right ahead and slap that 2s or 3s lipo in there and watch the parts fly. I ran 2s and i had the pinion come lose 4-5 times, slipper went in 2 weeks, rear diff blew out, tires lasted a month, drive shaft broke on day 2. Don't even want to know what happens on 3s.

Yea.. this truck OWNS, I have one, FIX THE DAMN ESC's, I watched 100 youtube videos and read 100 forum postings saying the ESC will blow, I talk to HPI Directly they tell me less than 1% of cars coming back with ESC problems, my LHS says 14 trucks sold, one comes back with problem. I run a 2 cell lipo 25c 5700mah and 4th pack... Servo works no throttle response at all, no motor whirling or any significance the motors doing anything, but ESC has green light for go red for brakes..

@blownutsmyass The reason why I'll never ever buy a traxxas again is the plastic driveshafts, though...

i burn one ESC the first day at 2s, 5000mah 30c sucks first run

@blownutsmyass yeah, driveline sucks as well... I can't see how Traxxas can cost the same or more than other brands like HPI and others... as on my traxxas vehicles I've spent more than the vehicle itself on just replacement parts, and on my HPI's I can count the times they've broke on my fingers(less than 10) lol :P

These Batts are way too expensive, I prefer to use THUNDERPOWER 65C Batts instead!
