Glad to see you’re getting familiar with the other band members. Just for completion, the drummer is Glenn. Romain and Gorran both have their own KZread channels which are well worth checking out also. This video was my first introduction to Ren and I was instantly hooked. I jumped right into the rabbit hole with both feet and spent the rest of that day becoming familiar with his back catalogue. Another great reaction from you, keep up the great work. Looking forward to seeing what you choose for your next video. Much love from Scotland 🏴

Thanks for enjoying the band with me! I value your insights and guidance!! They are certainly an addictive band!
As usual, great reaction. As others have pointed out, "The Big Push" busking sessions, concerts, and live recordings all are awesome and well worth checking out. Their covers of "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop," "Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble so Hard," “War Pigs,” "Generation," "An Englishman in New York," “Bongo Bong,” the songs "Oh My Woman," “Swan Song,” “Sweet Little Lady," "It's Alright," "Watch Out," “Dignity,” and so many others are equally impressive. The band performed their last official busking session and gave their last concert in September of last year due to the fact that Ren was leaving for Canada to undergo medical treatment for his multiple health issues, including surgeries. He will have to be there for at least six months (Summer of 2023). Ren’s Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder, which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, adrenals, as well as his bones/joints. Ren’s recent wisdom tooth removal went well, but he is currently battling an infection following cavitation surgery and is not feeling well. Ren has not posted an update for almost two weeks now. In the meantime, I am looking forward to more reactions from you.

It’s sad that great things can’t last forever…..I hope Ren gets better and that we can help him out here in Canada. I’ll do my best to pick up the slack until then. I appreciate you joining me on this journey….thanks so much.
Always lovely to hear your insights as a musician. It really adds so much depth and I love learning a bit more about the craft behind the performances. I cannot stress how unmusical I am, so it is like having someone translate a foreign language when you break down the techniques for us. Thank you!

Great Reaction! It's fun to hear your comments get quieter as you get pulled into the music. The busking videos are so amazing! I'd really love to see them live too, but as of now, they are all off doing their own things. Hopefully one day they will get back together. In the meantime, I'm happy that there are so many of their busking videos on youtube. This is definitely one of those performances that I'm happy I got to see in any form.

Cool man, unfortunately though I believe the Big Push is no longer and have retired the project. But reunions do happen even for busking bands I suppose. Have you checked out Ren- "How to be me'" ? Both the live version and studio version have their charms and worth checking out. Peace.

Great reaction as usual. I have seen The Big Push busking live many times and they are always brilliant. I hope all this well-deserved recognition (which is obviously wonderful for Ren and for the other band members) won't mean they don't busk in Brighton anymore but I suspect it will.😢

I enjoy watching your excitement on their jazzed up tunes. IT's pretty much how I'm feeling when I hear them also.
One of my absolute favourites, Ren is so soulful in this it’s beautiful. I love every aspect of his voice and he’s so good at changing it depending on the style of music/song he’s performing 🖤
It seems to me that all the songs Ren, Sam and The Big Push do are just so much better live than when they are produced. Even with the barely noticeable rare imperfections I'd still much rather listen to them doing it live. The fact they are better live than produced makes their future interesting. I can't wait to see what the future holds, but I hope it's not the end for The Big Push, they are amazing as a collective and know each others musical skills intimately, such a tight band. Every little thing they do is magic.

The Big Push don't exist anymore, I'm afraid. They did a massive farewell gig at The Brighton Dome last autumn. It's on KZread, also there's footage from the last ever busking session they did just before the farewell gig. Worth catching the finale of that on here Lonely Boy and Paint it Black - epic! I guess one of the reasons the stopped was so Ren could go to Canada for his treatment. I've read somewhere they might play together again one day. If so, I want tickets for that! Btw, have you come across Ren's first band, when he was a student in Bath? 'Trick the Fox'. You can tell it's Ren but it's very different from the current stuff. I guess it was from the time he started to be ill?

In terms of busking locations (@ 5:54) - The police won't move you along unless someone complains. Some of his chosen locations are outside churches who won't kick up a fuss and I think the other location I've seen is outside a disused shop/clothes store. As to which town? No idea but he's from Brighton. Interestingly seagull noises were used in Jenny and Screech which was a nod to his town.
