I second this. I'm a detailer too and I'd be happy to hire you to do my cars lol. Seriously. I'm stoked to detail other people's cars for money, but when I get home the last thing I want to do is clean the wife's car or my van 😅❤ I've even thought of trading other detailers I'll do their cars they can do mine. I'm on the other coast otherwise you'd be my guy! I thoroughly enjoy and learn from your videos too!

So this is a temporary concealment. The cleaning agent residue is never fully removed so what will happen over time is the cleaning agent is going to continue to pull the dirt from your clothes when you sit on it and make staining visible quickly. It's important to rinse with water until no cleaning agent remains. You can fill a spray bottle with water and continue to wipe or speed it up by using water and a shop vac.

Thanks for your feedback! You absolutely can do that as a last step preventative measure if someone is concerned. You can also use something like P&S Peroxide Finisher which helps to deactivate chemicals without rinsing. Either way is okay. Take care & thanks for watching!

I appreciate your feedback, unfortunately dish soap is a degreaser and is not a great option for fabric. #1 It is really tough to rinse thoroughly. This is why we don’t put it in our clothes washers right?Therefor leaving unwanted residue which can harden the fibers ruining the feel of the fabric. On the other hand, zap it is actually designed for fabric use and is extremely easy to rinse out and leaves no residue and is not sudsy and messy. It is also safe if it accidentally gets on any other surface on the interior of the vehicle. I actually use it to clean the plastics in vehicles as well, which reduces the amount of chemicals I need in my arsenal. Thanks for watching!

Hey, I appreciate and value your feedback. From another helpful comment below, I finally realized you were talking about the dollar store cleaner. I will always support whatever works best for you in your situation. Plus, understandably & unfortunately products can get expensive. But, just take caution when using cheap degreasers. I personally do not use cheap degreasers to prevent damage to interior materials. I believe in risk management with customer vehicles vs only maximizing profit. Take care and thanks for watching!

Using totally awesome or other degreasers can leave the fabric stiff or brittle. Always follow up with a fabric softener if using harsh cleaners.

@@94muddertrucker Thanks for your feedback, your comment helped me realize he was talking about a specific product I overlooked. And “totally awesome” i believe is from the dollar store. You are absolutely right about the harmful potential of cleaners such as cheap degreasers. If they are going to be used, I definitely recommend a thorough rinse and a finishing product such as P&S Peroxide Finisher. I have not tried a fabric softener, but I am sure that can work too after a rinse. Thanks for watching!

awesome video been looking for a carpet and upholstery cleaner with a bit more power if i want to mix zap it and the power clean together with a 10:1 dilution, how much of each do i need for the 1 part?

Yes I do have 2 seperate bottles for each chemical, I do not mix them into the same bottle. Also, I actually never need to let it dwell because zap-it is activated when I agitate.

Great video sir. Please can i ask? I have seen 3 videos , 1 with extractor, 1 steamer, on with only drill brush and mop up for cloth upholstery on the Chanell. Witch one you prefer ,and performing most of the time?

Hey there. Thanks for asking, this method on this video is the one I do most of the time. Sometimes without a drill brush if I can get good results still. Because not only do you want to clean cars, but help preserve them with least aggressive approach possible. The reason I like it the most is because I like risk management and simplicity I start ALWAYS with the least aggressive approach first to reduce the likelihood of damage to fibers & materials. Order of approach is as follows: 1st: High dilution high quality APC(not cheap degreasers) or specific fabric cleaner and microfiber towels. If this doesn’t work, move to 2. 2nd: drill brush agitation. 3rd: steam 4th: extractor(when the seats are disgusting and I know there is big spills in the seats or carpet. The steamer and extractor have their place, and with time and experience only, you will know when those times are. The most important part is using the right cleaners and either purified or distilled water with no minerals in it. Then making sure you mop up as much moisture and cleaner as much as possible with the right microfiber towels. I truly hope this helps. But the biggest thing you gotta do is overcome your fear and just try it. That’s the only way you gain experience. Work on your own vehicles, family and friends. Or get a seat from the salvage wreck yard to practice on. 👍 When I first started cleaning interiors almost 15 years ago, I never used a steamer or extractor and never had a problem getting good quality results. I would use nothing bush cheap towels & a hand brush. Yes it took me way longer, but the point is, it can be done with minimal products & tools still. Take care thanks for watching!

Yes absolutely, an extractor or at least a strong shop vac will definitely be of value in that situation to spot treat spills. Thanks for watching!

I like this technique, but I do believe it weakens the fabric due to the soap residue being left behind. I always tell people, You wouldn't wash your bed sheets that you sleep on this way or a T-shirt. leaving a shirt to dry with soap particles in the cotton fibers would result in it tearing very easy once dry. It's important to remove the soap. But YES, this is the best method without extracting. It is amazing how micro fiber towels revolutionized the cleaning industry.

If you use a powdered laundry detergent, it returns to powder after it dries and can be vacuumed off.

If you watch the video, you can see all of the dirt being absorbed and transferred into the microfiber towel and the color of the seat being returned to original appearance. So this is simply not true. And its really tough to damage a seat with a super soft drill brush attachment and plenty of cleaner on the seat which provides lubrication. Hey, great question. So the microfiber towels work in a very similar way to the vacuum. They will absorb, extract and transfer the dirt, germs and moisture from the seat to the towel. Now, it will not pull deep spills completely from deep inside the foam below, but at least with this method you can get the majority of it out and visually remove the unwanted stain appearance. But even extractors won’t always be able to fully remove every spill that is really deep inside the foam. Thanks for watching!

76, you are right. You need a wet/dry vacuum to get the mixture out. That is what I did.

Although an extractor/wet vac makes easier work of this, you can simply use purified/distilled water in a spray bottle to thoroughly rinse the chemical out with a few more microfiber towels. Same concept just more work. Thanks for watching!

I apologize for the late reply, I myself use the Mytee lite 8070, and the power it provides I would say is a minimum recommendation professionally.

I know it's expensive but you need to use an extractor vacuum.

Thanks for your feedback, it is definitely ideal, and which I do use myself. But this video is for people that don’t have or don’t want to use an extractor but still want great results with minimal tools and products. This is how I cleaned seats for the longest time before I got an extractor and customers loved the results just as much back then. For large, foul smelling spills, I definitely recommend extraction. This was not the case in this video. Thanks for watching!

The dirt is still inside. Extractors are not expensive. Also you can borrow these.

That's a good method. Also you need to neutralize the product after you mop up the seats s that if any liquid spill it won't reactivate that product That's in the seat.... another problem you can face is the seat get wet and soak the cleaning solution get deep and create more stains I've seen it before so just saying..... but great job on the cleaning

@@highlandsautodetailing I literally just had surgery on my right arm because I tore all the way through my bicep tendon and into my muscle. Plus they had to clean out my rotary cuff. All these years of constant arm moving from detailing inside or outside is wearing our bodies out and we don't know it. So although this method does work, I strongly advise people to use anything and everything at their disposal to make the job easier.

@@94muddertrucker Oh no! Sorry to hear that, that’s rough. But absolutely, detailing work is very demanding. Saving time, working smarter, not harder when and where you can is always encouraged to save your body long term.

Unless it’s an encapsulation product, stains will resurface and reappear. The more you vacuum an encapsulating product the more dirt you get out.

@@TheDatpussy If needed yes, the chemical will work better and yield better results if you steam it before drill brushing though without the need to use excessive and risky agitation. The goal is to use least amount of aggression to get the job done.
