I’ll always remember the best game of football I’ve ever played on PES 9. I was Man Utd vs Villarreal in a Champions League match. I went down 3-0 at half time. Brought it back to 3-2. The second goal was a belter, Ryan Giggs from the left wing at the halfway line while the GK was in his goal (best goal I’ve ever scored). I scored again in 90+3 to equalise and it was ruled offside. Lost 3-2. That’s how I discovered what heartbreak really was at 11 years old lmao.
Looks better than FIFA of that age

I played PES 5-9 then FIFA 10 till 14. I’m retired.
the net physics looks much better , compare to Pes 2021,2022,2023, and even Fifa 23.This is crazy

So true. .and the gameplay seems more free and the sound of the ball. It has weight. Unlike recent pes games that feel floaty

The nets in PES 2009 are the best in all football games. The Game developers has to get lessons from PES 2009.

Offside!!?? But it was a shot..!? Or am I so old that the rules have changed?

It's a clear offside, the player was in an offside position when the ball was shot. I think you mean that it wasn't a direct pass to the player, but that is not how offside rule works. If any player gains advantage from being in an offside position, except when an opponent deliberately gives the ball to opponent, the player is penalised for being in an offside position. This means that if the ball bounces back from the opposition player (a player trying to save the ball but it accidentally goes to the opponent) then it is not an offside offence.
