Why did you delete your other comment? I saved my response for you. Here it is That’s the beauty of film. It happens just like this in every film session. It’s about details and schemes. It gets annoying and yeah you strive for perfection in every session. You have to blitz Luka because he is too dynamic, but it can’t be a lazy trap it has to be enough to hopefully take him out of the play. Drop coverage is useless once Luka’s defender is dead on a screen.. now it’s a 1v1 with Luka vs a big, how do you think that’ll end up? My suggestion is to ice the screens and force him to a direction and pull the other defenders up to take away passing lanes and just contain the other guys as much as you can. That’s what happen when you play an elite player.

You wrote a report on how you think they can stop Luka, but here’s the issue. They’ve been given all the schemes and scout reports they could about Luka. They throw them away. His IQ is way above that; he knows how to read what defense you’re in and what you’re trying to do scheme-wise. You can have a scheme, but he will make it look irrelevant. The only way you can stop Luka is if he decides to have a bad night. His bad night is 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. His worst playoff game is 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. To put that into perspective, Tatum’s best playoff game is 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists.
This is not a good game to react to. The series was over. The first four games would have been better.
