Private Revelations & Belief in God. Finding Answers When the Stakes Are High

Gene Zannetti, founder of Winning Mindset, and Fr. Francesco Giordano, Director of Human Life International’s Rome Office, highlight the importance of private revelations in living one's faith in a world that has lost its sense of God. Zannetti and Fr. Giordano contend that all private revelations should be approached with caution and in the light of long-established Catholic doctrines. How people discern alleged messages from God - whether fact or fiction - is an important part in the journey of faith.
Watch now and discover when private messages are from God, as Zannetti and Fr. Giordano lay out the various conditions for prudence when listening to the Holy Spirit as we sort through some of the most extraordinary moments in history.

Listening to John-Henry, toward the end, made me think about Mary’s prayer life and how it manifested in the Incarnation. God wants us to enjoy participation, as Mary did, in His actions. His mercy is resting on us. His mercy is like water and flows to the lowest place. Humanity needs Fatima as much as God needed Mary’s Fiat. ♥️🙏🏼☦️

If only the powers that be understood that the people are so ready for this direction from heaven and if it was taught in our Churches and schools our world would be a better place and the graces would start flowing. My children did 10 expensive years in Catholic school here in Australia and neither of them new the Hail Mary by the time they finished junior school. It wasn't until I suggested doing a family rosary that I discovered this. I knew they knew the Our Father as it is said in Mass but just presumed that they knew the Hail Mary and Glory Be. What are they teaching if these foundation prayers aren't taught? As a child we spent the whole of May, every year, learning about and singing about Our Lady and how to pray the Rosary. This has been lost! We need to get back to basics. If only Gene was in charge of what our children were taught. What a wonderful world it would be for our children, who would then grow up with the tools they need to keep our fragile world safe in prayer. Every week I go to Mass and hope that Fr will say something about these devotions that all Catholics should be doing as Our Lady asked of us. Every week I'm disappointed.

@kerryfleming72, most Catholics don’t know that most of the Catholics schools are NOT teaching the Catholic faith. They are into teaching about the other faiths, and make the children think all faiths are the same! Go to the Traditional Latin Mass or find other good Novus Ordo parish that teach your children properly before it’s too late! Most Catholic children that go to Catholic schools end up leaving the faith once they leave the school! Good on you teaching your children praying at home. You may have to catch up on teaching them yourself at home on all aspect of the faith! All the best.

@imaculatamarriott1844 Thank you. My kids are 16 and 14 and always comment that they are the only teenagers that are at Mass. I teach them always, everyday about our faith, Our Holy Mother and Our Lord. They have beautiful faiths which I am thankful daily for this blessing. My 16 year old left her faith completely, to the point of atheism, for a few years and I prayed so hard and she came back, stronger than ever. I gave up believing they would be taught their faith at school as we were, when the eldest was 11. It's hard, they don't always want to go and I respect their decision while strongly recommending they should. And I placed them under Our Lady's Mantel to protect always. I dont know what I would do without my faith. I feel so thankful 🙏

Great point in minute 32:34 by Mr. Westen about that We cannot dismiss new apparitions just because they have not been approved (an for sure not called them “garbage”). We must be prudent and judge for our self if the particular message helps us grow in our spiritual life or not, until the church makes a judgement. A basic principle is to take what is good and to not be attached to the apparition or the seer, but only be attached to God, in that way we wether the apparition is true or false we would still profit in our spiritual journey.

If private revelations aren’t against doctrine, then what’s the problem? I think it’s important both not to be carried away, but to also not become like the scientific community who refute anything that mildly resembles anything religious. Balance is key, and remembering that none of us can put God and his designs into a box and immediately deny every single private revelation before it is debunked by the Church. “By their fruits will you know them”. I believe this can also be applied to private revelation, but none of us are obligated to believe or spread them, either. Keep a cool head, remain ambivalent or balanced, and let others discuss the revelations without adding vitriol into the discussions. This priest said something that is soooo key! We have lost the sense of supernatural and I’d even say many of us have fallen foul of what passes for “science”, these days, or lack thereof. We are no longer encouraged to discuss anything, or open our mouths (or keyboards) without being lambasted by people who simply want to shut others down - even in Catholic circles, I’m afraid.

Yes! But I’m afraid many Catholics mistakenly think that a general intention on “making the First Saturdays” suffices. On the contrary, as Our Lady said, each of the four requested acts (Confession, Holy Communion, praying five decades of the Rosary, and meditating on the 15 mysteries of the Rosary) is the be preformed “with the intention of making reparation to Me.” God Bless In JMJ Kev Gehringer

The Vatican had issued the Norms for private revelation, dated 1974 - 1978 (search online). Even though it's first and foremost the Ordinary who can make a decision, there are still directions they must follow to come to any conclusion. Looking at today's Ordinaries, who can tell if they have followed the rules in approving or denying, especially if any revelations say anything against rome or the pope? Do you really think Rome would approve any private relations against any pontiff? Think and pray!

That means Mary can and sometimes does bring people to her Son. She also intercedes for people like she did in Cana. Her cousin ran out of wine at their daughter’s wedding and Mary asked Jesus to make more wine as they ran out. He didn’t deny Bis mother. We can ask her to intercede for us. Jesus loves His mother and won’t say no to her requests. We don’t worship her at all. We do however, lean on her sometimes to help us. Jesus gifted her to All who believe in Him as their mother too He did this as he hung on the cross when He told John to Take Care of his mother and for her as His mother, to be John’s mother now. This essentially was meant for us. It is all meant for us.

She was asked if Mary wanted her, and the other seers, to go into a religious vocation, such as to become nuns or priests. Mirjana responded: “Yes, Mary actually did want us to go into the different religious vocations but left it up to us to decide for ourselves if we should or not”. I mean, really??!! I don’t know about you but if Mary told me, Herself, that she wanted me to become a street sweeper, I would have signed up the next day. Just the fact that he said that there's a "modernist mindset that says that private revelations are optional", is 100% against the Teachings of the Church due to the fact that what the Church officially teaches is that all private revelations (even the approved ones) are optional, since the Catechism of the Catholic Church says that they are not a part of the Deposit of the Faith (CCC #67) As for John Henry Westen, his argument is that since private revelation comes from God/Our Lady, then it's crucial for our salvation, when in reality, what the Church really teaches is that they are not needed for our salvation. Worse than this, he speaks about how unapproved apparitions were approved afterwards, as if this means that we should believe in unapproved apparitions based on our own discernment, when this is also something completely contrary to what the Church teaches.

I think it’s important to differentiate between “unapproved” and “condemned” as there are three categories. Without getting into the specific Latin terms, basically there are approved, condemned, and not yet approved or condemned. Fatima fell into that third category for quite some time before being approved. Many, clergy and laity, were against Fatima for a long time before it was approved. So, yes, be cautious and pray for discernment. But don’t dismiss outright just because it is not yet approved. John Henry has never promoted condemned apparitions.
