In 2022 I was in a nursing home trying to recuperate from a fall. After several weeks I felt despair because my roommates were dying. I talked to Jesus, not in prayer, but in desperation for I thought death was at my door. My pain was so great, my fear greater, and I forgot how to pray. So, I understand now that people we’re praying to Jesus for me. It explains why I left soon after to finally receive hip surgery from a fracture that nobody knew I was suffering from. Since that surgery I decided to be baptized Catholic, which hopefully will happen in 2024. Ironically, I have rheumatoid arthritis and gravitated to the Carnivore diet to reduce inflammation from eating a plant-based diet.

@@arnolddavidson5245yes, you can see it in the lives of so many saints. Joy does not equal happiness, so there can be joy (a fruit of the Holy Spirit) in knowing yourself loved by God, despite the suffering. Bishop Barron has a meditation on this analyzing an image of Jesus on the cross.

I have brain injury from an antidepressant (horrible withdrawal syndrome) and the extreme anxiety makes it so hard to pray the Rosary. My mind is actually broken and it scares me because the thoughts I get are not organic, feels like the devil can sneak more into my head. Many are healed incrementally and by different ways. Keep trying to pray your rosary. Do not worry about being what you think is “successful” in finishing it or feeling a certain way. This is so beautiful. The Blessed Mother is always there for me too. When I was 4 months pregnant with our son, my husband told me he was no longer attracted to me since I got fat and treated me like he hated me after that. It was like my identity was so caught up trying to please my husband and I just remember picking up my rosary and praying for the first time in over a decade. I had this dream with my grandfather who had been the most stable man in my life as a child. I hugged him and it was like I felt the word “Father” for real for the first time and I had the understanding that my life would be different and could still be different if I had that understanding. It didn’t happen all at once, but I had this slow awakening and understanding of father. It changed my understanding of everything else. I’m divorced now. My son has autism. I never thought I could make it on my own and I couldn’t, but God made everything possible. Sometimes Jesus just wants you to look at him, step out of the boat. You don’t have to worry about walking on water. You just have to look as Jesus. The Blessed Mother reveals Jesus in a way only she can to us. I’m so happy to hear of your healing and continued trust in the Rosary. The Blessed Mother has always answered my prayers, not always in a way I liked, but in a way that brought me closer to God.

As a woman I use to always fear walking in the street by myself. But since I consecrated my life to the scared heart of Jesus and prayer with our Lady. I realized that I have to be ready at all times to serve God. So when I walk down the street, I look at all things and all people and I open myself to be available, whether it is to smile and say hello, to look someone in the eye in acknowledgement, to help, to give, to pray. When I make things less about me and more about God I naturally have less fear and more love ❤ life becomes abundant and courageous

We talked a decent amount before his talk started but you never mentioned who you were. You just talked about how you were a McGill graduate and you were involved with researching interesting nerve therapies. I learned afterwards I was sitting next to Jordan's wife. From our short encounter I could just tell you were a pure heart with incredible humility. I later learned what a faithful Catholic you are and that makes me so happy. In Ireland, It was horrific how, for decades, Girls and boys were raped, beaten, and murdered in the thousands. If the church came out and handed the evil over to the authorities instead of them moving them to other towns and villages to do more evil. It's sad because I'm of generation born in 80s and we really wanted to believe, but this was so horrific that they've almost lost a couple of generations. I've started praying again, though, and trying to understand it deeper, to connect with Jesus again. Maybe at the moment I'm calling myself more Christian than Catholic.

I am so over the top excited to see Tammy and Bishop Barron discussing the faith. This makes me cry for joy. I have listened to Jordan for a long time because he’s searching for God. And it’s interesting how suffering can do that which it did for Tammy. She has found Jesus! She is a beautiful lady and I will now start watching her too, which is so wonderful. We have beauty right in front of our eyes everybody. We are watching souls being converted. Please keep watching! God bless you! 👏🙏😍

I was moved by this conversation between Bishop Barron and Tammy Peterson. I love Tammy‘s presence: authentic and vulnerable. She brought to mind my own feeling of being on fire with the love of God when I returned to the Catholic faith after a 50+ year hiatus. Bishop Barron was at the door welcoming me, and I could not get enough of his work. I will never forget hearing him say “God is creating you in every moment.” I can identify with the enthusiasm Tammy exuded even to the point of finishing Bishop Barron’s sentences from time to time. Tammy’s story is remarkable and I’m sure will be an inspiration for many people. I feel privileged to be living in the same time period with Bishop Barron. He is a remarkable gift of Grace. I pray for him daily. Thanks be to God

I just want to say that I don't like the word "useless" because in fact praying is never useless. I started to learn how to pray the Rosary thanks to Tammy ❤ It’s a strange thing really, because for years I tried so many techniques from foreign cultures and had only one experience where I kind of touched on the imensity of the actual moment. It was a glimps of how it feels to be connected with something bigger then you. Prayer can evoke that moment for me constantly. I don’t know why, but it feels purposeful to repeat the words people spoke for hundreds of years. Also it feels good because I pray for others too. It’s so funny to me, looking back at 25 years of searching (had really unimpactful religious teachings in my childhood, called myself Agnostic, Atheist, flirted with Buddhism, did Sam Harris’ meditations etc) and coming back to my roots, to my culture, and find religion again feels just right.

By the way Heiligenkreuz Monastery in Austria is a Cistercian Monastery with a longstanding connection to the Royal House of Habsburg. As Bishop Barron pointed out in his conversation with Mrs. Peterson, the Cistercians are reform of the Benedictines, and its most known Founding Member was St. Bernard of Clairvaux, who himself was a contemporary of Hildegard of Bingen.
