Honestly we never going to find out ,what is really true I read Priscilla book ,but is the true ? Maybe ,maybe not ,so many things She wrote however She wanted He couldn't understand that She want to leave Him and life in his opinion wonderful ,She had everything and She gets bored with it ,and now after His death so many years ,She lives of His fame and His last name ,even She was with other men and has son with other man Well everybody fascinated with this love story but honestly She was a child 14 years old ,and He was 24 years old ,already been in Army and famous ,rich,sexually expierence ,nobody say that He was grooming Her to look older ,the hair ,the makeup Nobody say also that Her parents let 14 years old girl stay in his house ,and who knows ,what was behind the close doors ,maybe He was a gentleman or not In the book She said that they only kiss ,even She wanted more ,well what 14 years old girl wanted more and knows sexually from guy who was 10 years older then Her And in the book also it says that He gave Her a sleeping pills and She was not well ,and She till was attending school and couldn't say that She was sleeping in his house Whole story is a bit strange Don't mind me ,I like his singing and I only could judging Him on that ,not personal life ,but there was so much written down and shown He wanted be famous and rich and in the end He gets tired of it So many times happening with people who gets famous in minutes and has access to money Like River Phoenix ,or James Dean

@champ, Well, I see it differently, and the film is about Priscilla and not about Elvis. The focus is on Priscilla, you can tell when you see the camera settings. She has undergone an enormous transformation, from a girl to a woman, that is what the focus has been on. I do think he looks like Elvis in some shots, one of which is when the three of them are taking the photos on the chair.

It's not Priscilla's story or her transformation but only her relationship with Elvis, in a distorted way since Coppola left out many important facts about Priscilla, just to show a bad Elvis and sanctify poor Priscilla. And the height difference between the actors is made on purpose to follow this distorted view. This is why this movie is a total joke and simply doesn't work.

Yeah the actor playing Elvis was an Australian actor who is 6' 5" and the actress is 5' 1". In reality Elvis was 6 feet tall and Priscilla was 5' 4".

me too but not this one. not only is it flopping in theaters, but the casting is so wrong and the plot is poorly done, the scenes poorly lit and the audio barely audible. Its just really badly done and boring.

NEWEST DETAIL: Lisa Marie came out to Sofia Coppola that she was planning to COME OUT AGAINST HER MOTHER right before she died! We have the emails now. She labeled the Elvis & Me book A REVENGE PROJECT (most likely because Elvis removed her from his will for good in 1977 for now VERY GOOD REASON) and that it INACCURATELY portrays Elvis. In other words SHE LIED ABOUT EVERYTHING. PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 1. Priscilla met Elvis AFTER she had intercourse with Elvis' friend, Currie Grant. At that moment she was not a virgin anymore. When Elvis was back in the States, Priscilla had several boyfriends and slept with them. Priscilla was very flirtatious. It is rumored that she was sexually abused by her violent alcoholic stepfather Paul Beaulieu. Priscilla let Elvis believe that she was an innocent virgin but in reality, she was a liar and a manipulator, who was addicted to attention because she always was her mother's little princess. Even his pastor from the East Trigg Baptist Church felt that Elvis was on a mission and that God can use him for that aspect. Everyone around Elvis saw it. Naturally, the man was taken advantage of from every avenue, because and in spite of his talents and mission to bring people together. The Priscilla story never happened. Elvis was too kind and too careful for that. Elvis never "went after" Priscilla at 14 like she falsely claims. There is ZERO evidence of that from all around her at the time. I been defending Elvis because the movie is fiction because if the movie was based on facts it would be boring and Wouldn’t make any money! Elvis met Priscilla at 14 in Germany he told her she was much too young so when Elvis went home to Graceland he continued his relationship with longtime girlfriend Anita. Elvis didn’t take Priscilla’s calls or letters it wasn’t until she was almost 17 before she moved into Graceland and she was 21 before he even went to bed with her. Elvis was pressured into marrying Priscilla she only married Elvis for money. It’s been almost 50 years and she’s only the ex wife - scorned ex wife!

I like the film. Elvis was just human, he had flaws like everyone else, they had problems in their relationships like everyone else. Elvis wasn't just a sunny boy, that makes him human and even more likeable for me. Cailee Spaeny plays fantastically, I think she embodies the transformation from a girl to a woman very well.

Her parents could have recalled her back home, but didn't. They all were very content with the blessings of her living at Graceland & living the lavish lifestyle. Free Will is a wonderful thing, and she exercised it, as is evidence of staying there all those years. What did she expect from Elvis? To tame the King of Rock & Roll? Isn't that the very premise she complained about elvis, trying to change her to being what he wanted? And She complained of infidelity, lack of attention, etc BUT continued to stay until after she had a daughter.

Lisa and Riley were sick of it also. Everything Pris does is because Elvis divorced her for her infidelity, while accusing him of infidelity. Elvis sang suspicious minds, and the lyrics tell all. Pris also contradicts herself in a lot of interviews. This movie is nothing more than "Elvis and Me" on speed. Elvis spoiled her, rotten and even set her up in her own dress shop business after he divorced her, and she is still bitter. I guess that's what you do when you can't admit you lost the King, and he didn't want anything to do with you anymore.

Elvis VERY PUBLICLY started a relationship with her at 18. Not one day earlier. Priscilla has been peddling these lies, which she has fabricated and marketed for 50 years. She is in reality a CON ARTIST who has stolen upwards of 100 MILLION DOLLARS from her daughter Lisa Marie and Elvis Presley's estate.

I think the Elvis movie by Baz was 10 times better than this movie. I wouldn't pay to go watch it at the theater.

@Dani_marie_ We shouldn't speculate to what and how much she's getting -you know. We don't know if Elvis simply....put money in his will FOR her. We just don't know. We don't know anything really, right? I also think that um....(I mean this is totally separate than the speculation to personal financial gain that I feel like you're trying to highlight here but push that aside just for a moment...)-We all know that they were at one time -MARRIED. They also SHARE a daughter together. I think it's not necessarily KIND to judge others how they process their grief from losing a loved one. (And she may NOT have historically said particular nice things about Elvis in the press. But ALOT of people don't process anger in the best ways. She's only human.) I think there's alot of grief behind the scenes here. We DO know Elvis was an addict that had ALOT of its own problems thrown into the mix as well. Add on top of an addict-he was CONSIDERABLY older than her! He was "adulting" at the "adult" game for a while even before she entered his life. He had alot of life experience that she didn't have -and that includes socializing and communication skills beyond that of a 16 year old when they got married that most likely absolutely allowed alot of gray areas for manipulation and grooming of her as an individual. I think she probably went through alot of hell that people don't even see. There's a reason why it's illegal for 18 year olds to date minors today. He was damn near 30 years old when he married her at 16. I think there was alot that she has always wanted to say-but even if she did-no one gave a damn because of the GRAVITY and CAPTIVITY that Elvis possessed of his fans. He absolutely knew how to work a crowd. He knew how to get your attention. You can see it in his reactions to the crowds at his concerts-he absolutely lived for the attention. He was very charismatic. I don't think that woman ever had a chance in hell to even have her own identity-to tell her own story, or to even carve a life or career of her choice-and there's a HIGH chance Elvis wouldn't let her.

Well that was the era and the lifestyle to watch Ray and see he was hooked on heroin and cheating on his wife or Great Balls of Fire and Jerry Lee was crazy and abusive at times too and Walk the Line Cash didn't love his first wife etc. Boys will be boys huh?

So majorly disappointed by this movie!! 😢😢 Sofia has really lost her touch in my opinion. It was way too simple, no climax and horrible conclusion of the movie. Coppola has misunderstood that less isnt more. The movie became boring because it needed more dialogue and more characters, a voiceover of what Priscilla was thinking, should also have focused more on Priscillas life AFTER Elvis which could have been way more interesting. Also Cailee and Jacob really didn’t have very good chemistry to my surprise, which was so hard to watch, when the movie only focuses on them. I actually think Priscilla should have been cast by someone else, who looks more like her and is a more experienced actor. Shocked how bad this entire thing was, when it actually had potential. Only slightly good things were the aesthetics and Jacob sometimes. Coppola had all the source material and the story has been out of years, which also doesn’t make it very exciting, but Coppola still managed to f it up is beyond me. Should have made someone else write the script or just not make this movie at all.

Wow, wow, wow, what can I say about this movie? I have never been to a movie where people actually walked out and we're cussing at the screen and literally had to have somebody come in there ushers to tell them to hush or they were gonna be thrown out. I've been watching movies God for almost my entire wife. And I've never seen that happen before in a movie. That will give you an idea what this movie was. Mike seriously. He did not come off as a very good person and this movie. I don't know if his version was correct or her version has correct a lot if her version is correct. He was a totally different person and real wife than he was on the stage and in the movies, and he did not come off as being a great person. Abusive, everything, I just can't go into it without spoiling it up for you, but let me tell you. I have never been to a show where people were custom at the screen and literally walk it out of the theater. And it wasn't many people in the theater to begin with and literally I've seen. 3 or 4 people leave and somebody was literally custom at the screen. I don't know if they were drunk or what but wow. My opinion about the movie is I didn't think it was bad. I just didn't like the way that she was treated and I can't really go in to more details again. You have to see it for yourself but if this was the true story. I really don't know what to say. I'm at words for this one I don't know how to rate this 1 I really don't. I can't say I didn't like it and I can't really say if I like that. I mean, I don't really know how to rate this one.

Watched it. First reaction: This was clearly an attempt for Priscilla to DEFLECT from her THEFT of her daughters money BY THE MILLIONS. And to sell more of her Elvis & Me book which was a book of lies about Elvis. SO HOW WAS THE FILM: Lets ignore that fact that this is a TOTALLY INACCURATE portrayal ELVIS, and of her life with Elvis. I felt there was VERY little character development in either Priscilla or Elvis - so I felt literally no emotion or empathy toward them. Most other characters were barely significant. The whole thing just felt rushed and fudged together. The casting of Elvis was TOTALLY OFF and lacking ANY charisma. Jacob was AWKWARDLY TALL and a TERRIBLY choice to play Elvis. He TOWERS over miniature Priscilla. The intent was to add a fake layer of DIFFERENCE between them instead of... you know... ACTING..... But it was the horrendous Elvis accent.... the speech and mannerisms were SO OFF and hia parts were SO OVER ACTED and OVER REACTED. BUT EVEN WORSE... he MUMBLES and WHISPERS in many scenes making it difficult to understand his dialogue, many people I spoke to said they needed SUBTITLES!! English subtitles for an English movie!!!??? Yes, THAT IS HOW BAD he did playing Elvis. 0/10 is my review. It is THE SINGLE WORST movie I have EVER seen

I liked the parts of the book with the exception of the parts she talks about grooming and pedophilia because it just didnt seem like the truth. That was THEN. MOST OVERLOOKED FACT: PRISCILLA WAS THE PREDATOR and Elvis the victim from the very start: PRISCILLA was offering her body around the army base and in fact screwed a man on the army base who granted her access with her to the party Elvis was at. Elvis had no idea who she was and it was PRISCILLA that F'd a grown man at the age of 14 VERY WILLINGLY just to be LET IN TO A PARTY TO MEET ELVIS. Credible details are that SHE INTRODUCED HERSELF TO ELVIS and they SPOKE briefly about the shocking passing of Elvis' mother which devastated him. He was still in mourning. There is ZERO EVIDENCE that ANYTHING inappropriate HAPPENED verbally or physically. Not ONE EYEWITNESS or photo corroborates Priscilla's tale. NEWEST DETAIL: Lisa Marie came out to Sofia Coppola that she was planning to COME OUT AGAINST HER MOTHER right before she died! We have the emails now. She labeled the Elvis & Me book A REVENGE PROJECT (most likely because Elvis removed her from his will for good in 1977 for now VERY GOOD REASON) and that it INACCURATELY portrays Elvis. In other words SHE LIED ABOUT EVERYTHING. PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 1. Priscilla met Elvis AFTER she had intercourse with Elvis' friend, Currie Grant. At that moment she was not a virgin anymore. People should stop focussing on who’s right or who’s wrong and stop worshipping Elvis as a God. Believe me, he was just a man, far to be a saint and has cheated on his wife too. Sounds like a victim to me. A victim to her parents and to the adult Elvis that wanted to live with a 14 year old. My point is just because someone put out work you loved doesn't mean they're a saint. They still may have done inappropriate things, and there's no need to minimize that. And likewise, we don't need to turn everyone that's made mistakes into a complete villain. This is not a Disney movie. People are complex and all have their demons. Why is this still in theaters? Terrible movie that was the most boring and inaccurate film I'd ever seen. And it was NOT VERY NICE. Twisting facts to make GUILTY AF PRISCILLA (SHE STOLE MILLIONS FROM HER OWN DAUGHTER) look like a victim when she was no victim, SHE was the PREDATOR. Not Elvis. This was a GOLD DIGGERS STORY, not a me too thing at all.

One of the all time great American Dreams, from birth, living in a humble shack with no running water or electricity, to the death of his twin brother, to the birth of building St Jude's Hospital, to Polio the disease he helped eradicate through vaccine promotion, to the music he fused and arranged with his legendary baritone, to his charisma and stage presence, to breaking segregation apart down South, to the civil rights movement, and to his premature death; he was and is the most LOVED musician that ever lived. He was happy to give to others. That is what gave him joy. And the music of course. It was his generosity thou, he died almost penniless.
