Another great video. We did the Regal Princess in November 2023. We thought the pizza was good, not great. The pizza was a little bit above average as were the hamburgers. At the Trident Grill, we thought the service was really disorganized and 15-20 minutes may be an UNDERSTATEMENT even during slow periods. Our original plan was to hit Alfredo's on embarkation day but we saw no need to pay $15 pp + gratuities for what was advertised at the time of booking as "included." I have to admit that I liked the buffet on the Regal Princess so much that these options were less attractive. No cruises until September ... or that is what the official line is.

Thanks for sharing your experience JL! 😊 Yeah can definitely imagine how busy it could get at the Trident Grill giving to long wait times. Alfredo's new cover charge is not very popular from what we saw- not that many people were eating there, and many were officers.

The Trident Grill is definitely one of my two Go-To Princess eating options. Alfredo’s being my very favorite. Because I basically eat like a 12-yr old. Burgers, hot dogs, fries, tacos, I’m in. I probably ruined Alfredo’s profit margins on my 21-day Princess cruise (Ft.Lauderdale, Azores, Belgium, Scandinavia, ending in St. Petersburg , Russia - Epic!). I ate there almost every day, so no wonder there’s a cover charge now. It’s wonderful.

That must've been an amazing cruise because we took the same itinerary years ago on NCL and thought the ports were incredible. Yeah unfortunately Alfredo's is no longer complimentary, but Princess still has good pizza on lido. Thanks for sharing!

Everything looked tasty! Especially that burger with lettuce overload. 😁 We are looking into going on our first Princess cruise sometime next year. We’ve been in a rut with HAL, RCL and Celebrity. Might try a Norwegian too. Still a bit apprehensive about Carnival. 😳Thanks for the video! I always enjoy watching Joann judge food. 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah would love to hear how you like some of these other cruise lines such as Princess. Carnival actually has some pretty good comfort food, but their buffet doesn't have a very big selection. Thanks Sally- Joann and I appreciate you watching & commenting! 😊

Hi Joann and David I love the puzza on the Celebrity ships from the buffet after the 9 pm show. A yummy way to end the day. Next cruise in November 2024 on the Constellation

The poolside pizza is still free (and pretty good overall). It's the indoors one on deck 6 (Alfredo's/Gigi's depending on the ship) that's $15 more 🙂

Thanks for another good one. Was hoping to see a gluten free option on the Alfredo's menu. We are sailing in June with the princess plus package which includes Alfredos but my wife has celiac disease so looks like we will miss out on this one.

Thank you! 😊 Now even though they don't show gluten-free pizzas on the menus, they certainly should have ones with gf-free crust available. Just let them know (both at the complimentary Prego's & the extra-cost Alfredo's).

The complimentary one would be on the pool deck, right outside the buffet.

A lot of pizza joints use semolina to stop it sticking. I agree not the best texture, looks like they use way to much.

Yeah this one they were a bit overgenerous with those, though they also didn't have too much of at certain times, so maybe it depends on who's making the pizzas. Overall still quite tasty.

You can easily price out cruises on their website. Each cruise is different depending on the date and itinerary.

This one was about $4K for 11 days (3 people in an interior stateroom). It was during the holidays into the New Years, so if you go during less busy times you should be able to get a better rate than that.

My wife and I are budget travelers as we are retirees and we shop the Vacations to Go website a lot for "off season" deals. For two people in the cheapest inside cabin, we paid $820 plus $278 in taxes plus $16 per day per person in gratuities. If you are looking for a deal on any ship in the Caribbean or the Mexican Riviera, you will want to look at the first three weeks in November and December. Do realize that a SIGNIFICANT cost is getting to and from the cruise port. We drove into Houston from Tucson so we had five nights in various LaQuinta properties plus parking at the cruise port garages in lieu of airfare and transfers.

I have had terrible complementary Pizza Margarita Pizza on both Princess and Carnival. No Basil! Not very Italian tasting. So sad.

Sorry to hear that! We thought it was pretty good, but yeah they weren't very generous with the basil on the margherita pizza. It looked like a plain cheese with the tomatoes not being on top.

I hope that pizza was not just a taste test for your video and actually went to waste 🥴. Three slices for a single person is a lot

We definitely try our best not to waste food. Usually we do finish most of it as there are 3 of us sharing, unless it tasted bad.
