Prince Charles Visits Grandmother’s Grave on Jerusalem Visit
The Prince of Wales visited the grave of his grandmother Princess Alice as part of a trip to Jerusalem for a number of Holocaust commemoration events.
Princess Alice gave shelter to a Jewish family during the Nazi occupation of Greece in the Second World War.
Her remains were buried in the Church of St Mary Magdalene above the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem.

It is wonderful to watch Prince Charles is paying respect to his grandmother and visits her grave in the Holy Land. I remember reports on Prince William who paid a similar visit previously. He looked very moved. I believe it was very special for both of them. They set the right example.

Amazing. And I know I really need to be quiet. But, it's a crying shame that 2 members of Prince Charles family cannot bring themselves to do public relations visits like this. Being humble never hurt anyone.

His grandmother the late Princess Alice of Greece was a righteous Gentile, hiding a Jewish family in Athens during the Holocaust under the noses of the Nazis. She gave up her title and lived as a nun in Jerusalem. I hope that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren live up to her wonderful example.
