I fail to understand why love and duty can't coincide. Had Charles loved Dianna they would have been unstoppable. The public loved her because she was so human and humane at the same time. She was a great mom. The Queen was raised in an antiquated era with ideas that had long since run their course. It didn't have to be the snobbery it had once been of position. Had they not considered commoners to be less because they weren't of royal bloodline there probably would have been less scandal.

I don't care about his bizzare ideas, I just can't digest how cruel and heartless he and Camilla were to Diana.

Sometimes it's a mystery how God plans. But I feel she was there to turn our eyes to the royal family and see the contrast in attitudes. If she was light they were dark. If she was bright they seemed dull. If she was intelligent they seemed dull.

As unhappy as they were, and as tragic as her death was, I think they were together for a reason. That reason(s) are/is William & Harry. Without her they wouldn’t exist, and they were meant to, it was fate. With Camilla, they would had very different children, and I for one cannot imagine a world without William & Harry.

She loved her own children, and spent so much time with them. She was a kind gentle person whom I believe, would have been a great Queen of England....... Trix Sands The Queen's uncle (Edward VIII) had an affair with a married Catholic woman (at the time, that wasn't allowed, as the monarch in the UK is also head of the Church (not the Pope)). A prince or princess can't abdicate as it's not a landed title (except the Prince of Wales) - just the direct descendents of the monarch.

A true monarchy is just as a valid form of government as any other, (maybe not the best kind of government, but whatever), however what the UK has is definitely not a monarchy - it's anything but, a joke of a monarchy. What is the point of having a "King" or "Queen" who really isn't King or Queen - it's a total waste of time and resources, a small group of people thinking they are better than everyone else just because they get to use an empty title in front of their names...

@@deadshot8077 I was a baby when she died so I don't remember her death but got to know her as I grew up and she has that charm that can make others see how beautiful she was...I anyway hated monarchs as I read history but I truly despise Prince Charles and Camilla for what they did.. Diana seemed like a free spirited kind woman but sadly could not have closed ones who loved her for what she was.

@@danapnmk It doesn't always "take two" for a marriage to fail! It only needs one to stray and we know the heart of Charles was never with Diana in the first place, that is not to say she was perfect but she loved her husband and was committed to the marriage from Day 1 -- he was not.

Prince Philip was a pompous fool who could say what he wanted cause of his status. He was no mans man himself. He was the Queens brood stallion, nothing more. Lived on the tax payers expense.

I have my opinion of Charles and it's possibly better left unsaid. I do feel William will make an honourable monarch.

The sad thing is that he was a naturally sensitive person and he got shut down and learn to repress it just to be accepted by his family, which was also his demise publicly who hates unauthentic people and of course he chose to be resentful and hurt others in his selfishness. I agree with you. I was only ten when Diana died and could really relatewith the issues she faced. And have held an extreme resentment. Now that I'm older I can see the other side of things and realize how others feel and the misunderstandings they have and the reasons why. I never thought I would feel sympathy but I actually do. However, I don't think Diana's death was an accident.

Diana will always be a thorn on his side and Camilla....if he declared Camilla as Queen ...I could just imagine the uproar

I think Charles Liked Dianna but she was young & in need of nurturing of which Charles needed more of he thought & Camilla nutured him 🤔 more & he did get jealous of the peoples love for Dianna. ( Not a good enough reason to kill anyone.) Just as Dianna said would happen 8 months before she dies. This is what we who lived it, will never forget. Not a Kingly thing to do. I do not see William stooping so low ever! * Also, I do not see that genuine love in Camilla's eyes ( Like Dianna Had for him). I can see Camilla becoming 👸 Queen $$ more in her 👀 eyes.

Charles wasn’t allowed to marry the love of his life, Camilla. His parents and grandmother arranged for him to see the daughter of his grandmothers lady in waiting, the grandmother of Diana and her sister. Charles went out with the sister, and met Diana, and the grandmothers and Queen decided Diana was the only one suitable for Charles. A lot of people confuse their lives of privilege with lives of options, which is simply not the case. No one that is a direct heir to the throne is really truly very free.

@@msi8311 while surely what his relatives forced him to do was hideous, he still had enough choices. A decent man would have tried or at least stay loyal and cordial even if he will never be passionate about his wife. Charles is the heir apparent and with no real power, his only tool was his image and he destroyed it by linking with Camilla. He must have thought everyone would feel sorry for their love but cheating on your spouse, especially to the religious, is something they would abhorr. Charles hated the chains of the royal life but he never seemed to like to take it off like his Uncle David. The british might have hated his abdication but at least he got it right to leave something that clearly wasnt what he wanted. Charles wanted to be king without the restrictions and responsibilities.

I believe the Queen keeps hanging on in order to delay Prince Charles ascending to the throne as long as possible.

As far as I know, the only time that both appear on postage stamps is when a special commemoration issue is printed, such as a celebration of long years' anniversary of an unbroken Royal marriage etcetera! Can't see that happening in the case of Charles & Camilla since, due to their age, they'll be lucky to make the first 25th. & even that, IF it happens, it is doubtful if it will be philatelically celebrated!! So don't lose TOO much sleep! But if you're REALLY worried phone Waterman's, or whoever prints the things, for their reassurance that there are no plans to offend or upset you!!

If you want to save the monarchy, speciaĺly in Australia, William should be the next King

I don’t think most British people really care about all of this anymore. Most people tend to feel that it was silly Charles hadn’t been allowed to marry Camilla in the first place. It certainly would have saved everyone a lot of grief - and no one would have even heard of Diana.

The problem with many modern architects is that they want to leave their mark without any considerations on preexisting elements. That is why the skyline along the Thames in central London looks like a hodge-podgey jumble of heterogenous blocks of concrete and glass lacking any harmony.

If these are the worse complaints about Prince Charles, then he should become a good king when compared to blood thirsty monarchs of the past from around the globe

IMO I think Prince Charles just really wants to live his own life but at the same time he knows that he can't get away from it no matter what he does and he probably didn't fully come into terms with that. And there probably wasn't a person who helped him with all these, at least in a healthier fashion. There may be a lot of repressed fears, guilt, and regret going on there.

Because he chose wealth, as his aunt did, over love. In Charles' case, over the life of an innocent and beautiful woman.

you dont know that that was conventional wisdom until the 1960s or 70s? Most people thought that a woman with a sexual life was of dubious morals while a man was Ok to do so. He also cheated on his wife Diana with his present common law wife Cruella de Vile. (English law says that the direct heir to the throne has to be married in the Church of England. Since Cruella was divorced, the church wouldn't marry them. They were married in a civil ceremony, then had a blessing, not a marriage, in the church. So under English law, Chuckie isn't legally married to Cruella. They allowed Harry to get married in church to Meghan, who was divorced, because Harry isn't the direct heir to the throne, his older brother William is).

Princess Diana appearing on TV and airing her private life with out considering her sons really angered me. Princess Diana was a very complicated woman!!!!

@@PompeyChris71 Princess Diana sadly made too many mistakes and from all she did she was classed as a borderline personality disorder. These sort of people self harm are vindictive defiant prone to mood swings where they come across as caring and then suddenly switch and are devious. Diana herself admitted it on panorama with out considering her sons. As Mother to the future King of England she should have left anything said about her to conjecture not air it on TV.

@@maggiemae7749 Yes Maggie Princess Diana did have an affair with a married man and other men whether it was vindictiveness or just plain looking for so called love or it may have been low self esteem what ever the problem she was Mother of the future King of England and should have been more self sacrificing which is true love. Princess Diana on TV admitted to a lot of her mistakes which again I felt was so wrong to do that and once again no thought as to how that could affect her sons. If Princess Diana had a borderline personality disorder that is sad because people who have the problem cannot account for what they do. I say a prayer for her from time to time because she do a lot of charitable work and died far too young. Only 36 years of age how sad!!!

His dabbling in comedy filmology looked interesting...

It would be interesting seeing him be king, even if his reign was short.

George III, to whom you obviously refer to as "mad", suffered from a medical condition, porphyria, which causes bursts of irrational behaviour! His ill-treatment by his quack physicians only served to make him worse!! But I don't think that the condition of hereditary!

He’s not ‘mad’. He’s intelligent and deeply sensitive, that doesn’t mean he’s ‘mad’. It’s disrespectful of the media to put that label on him.He does a lot of good work.

They’ve stayed quiet because they love the Queen so much but when she’s gone they still haven’t forgiven Charles for his treatment of Diana watch there will be massive protests about him becoming King

That is cool he was an advocate of affordable housing. I hope he still is.

I tend to discount any documentary on Prince Charles that includes commentary from Penny Junor. In the Charles/Diana/Camilla affair, she was so biased in favor of Charles, seeming to lay all the blame on Diana's youth and neuroses. If there was any even-handedness in her assessment, it was edited out.

@Lyre Burch No one forced Charles to marry Diana. He did it on his own accord. His father said marry or break it off. Don't leave her hanging. He could have married Camilla but he would have had to renounce the throne. I bet if Charles did that Camilla would have high tailed it out of there. She is an evil woman and both of them lack moral character.

@Lyre Burch You said it, Diana KNEW about Camilla and married him any way.

None of this information implies that he is mad. He is just creative and different and passionate about what he believes in.

Because you aren't supposed to participate in a big wedding with someone you don't really love while continuing to have an affair with a married woman. You aren't supposed to just make your wife accept that she is his other wife; the one he really does love. Talk about shattered dreams.

I believe that the problem in his first marriage was he needed a mum not a wife. Diana was so young she still needed a father and her husband couldn’t support her because he was jealous of the attention she received. He was so desperate for attention himself that he viewed her as a sort of competition to himself.

From 27:57 The way Penny Junor goes on about Prince Charles, she talked as if she, herself is best suited for him. No other woman was good enough for Prince Charles other than herself.

I love the intro lmao.

Charles has a sense of humour and can laugh at himself, not many others in the royal family can say that. Absolutely right also when it comes to modern architecture and organic farming methods.

Food additives, colourings, hormones fed to animals et etc..that fertiliser DDT that everyone called Drop Dead Twice! Govts/Corps/Pharma still loading us up with cr@p. All of it to get us addicted/dependent on one thing or another & chemicals to increase production. Charlie & certain royals are into homeopathy, organic food & of course no money worries & ppl to fetch & carry so live for YEARS!

You are certainly a charmer...

Charles never grew up and did not want a wife, but a mother. I don't agree with the tradition of marrying for wealth or status and then having affairs for chuckles. That's a cheat and cannot end well. It would have been more humane and honest to hire Diana as a surrogate mother rather than put her through that farce of a marriage. Charles led a life of extraordinary privilege but felt imposed upon in his one primary duty. I do not pity him for being a spineless failure.

That is exactly what Diana was, a surrogate mother, producer of royal boys. The excellent genes skipped Charles. Diana had plenty of her own.

Diana wanted a husband and Charles wanted a mother. Camilla was his mom. Elizabeth the dead beat mom unintentionally played a big role in who he chose to mother him.

I was born in 1951 and am Scottish. Charles was no one’s favourite during the next 5 decades. He always portrayed a snobbish attitude but in fact had little academic achievement. Maybe that’s who Harry takes after.
