Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here is a Primus Stove review of the Primus gas stoves called Primus Lite, Primus Lite+ and the older version called Primus Eta Solo and all their pros and cons. These goes under the segment called Primus backpacking stoves and is a compact and lightweight backpacking stove system where the pot and stove are in the same stove kit.
It’s not easy to choose camping stove since there is so many out on the market but during Matti's life long outdoor experiences he got to try quite many camping stoves.
Primus is a Swedish and very old and famous brand for camping stoves and many other outdoor gear.
Check out our video called “Choose Camping Stove” If you want to learn more about different kind of camping cooking stoves: • CHOOSE CAMPING STOVE |... . In that video we compare different different outdoor stoves from Trangia, Toaks, MSR stoves and Primus of course.

I have the Plus and so does bud Jarl. I looked at both and decided to go for the cup. Glad you explained the screws. The direction booklet was such small print I couldn't read it with a 10x magnifier. The handle is worth it. I've used my original SVEA Optimus stove for over 40 years. It's great. Can also use the pot on a fire if necessary. Everything packs as one. Heavy I guess for some with the bottle of liquid fuel but it works well very versatile. I do some hiking but mostly motorcycle travel. Light is right on both regards.

I especially liked that view of Stina in a canoe with a big smile at the beginning of this video. I've been aware of this stove, JetBoil stoves & others. My fuel canister stove of choice is Soto Windmaster. And it's piezo igniter works every time. Yes, I do keep a small lighter with the stove as a backup ignition. I also begin any hike/adventure with a FULL 4oz fuel canister thanks to my GWorks lindel fuel transfer valve that enables me to refill the small canisters from larger 16oz fuel canisters. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.

Great reviews as ever. I've been using the Lite+ for a few years and even though there are lighter stoves out there, it's never let me down (as long as you carry a lighter cos of that intermittent Piezo!) so I don't see me changing.

Nice review. I have the Primus lite+ and I like it very much. We had it with us this year in Rondane National Park Norway and last year in Sarek. It worked very well for three people ( me, my husband and my 15 year old daughter). It was perfect for boiling water. Very fast and efficient. Even the piezo worked very well. If we are on a day hike here in the south of Germany we often use the coffee press which you can get for it ( unfortunately we don't have Kok Kaffee in Germany😉).

Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Yes, the space in the lid holds the fold out legs. It’s convenient for that. With the Lite, you can put the gas can in upside down and the burner should fit inside with the lid on. I think you would have been happier with the Lite+ overall. It’s worth the extra weight/money for the included pins/lid/handle/legs. Cheers!

I use Lite XL version ( 1 liter volume ) which has those screws included and are nicelly done, not just basic diy screws but machined ones. Piezo works flawlesly, one click is enough. Smashing piezo nervously many times in row will kill it fast. It can cook proper meal no problem, pasta, stews… yes, Jetboil is probably more thoroughly thought through, but more expensive. XL version fits 230g gas canister inside along with burner, tripod for canister and 2 foldable sporks so for me its great for mountain trips 2x a month. Also, less weight is not aleays in par with sturdyness or robustness

Nice review. I use Jetboil, it seems more « sturdy ». Also i didnt care to have a Piezzo.. i just have a flintstone, that way you car start the stove in any weather, no problem with wind and matches, or wet lighter. Also, i’d rather have a second regular stove for pans or pots, that way i can boil pasta/rice at the same time i cook a trout or anything else on a pan. Also with jetboil you have little feet to hold the gas bottle on the ground, it makes it very stable… it avoid spilling everything you cooked on the floor.. like it happened to me many times

Hi I have just watched your video today, I have the primus eta lite, I have a soft spot for this stove, the connection between pot and burner is the best one, the pins to use for other pans I don’t think is very good they are only good for small pans, I do like the hanging system. My other stove I have similar is a jetboil micromo, this is far faster to boil water, possible half the time, the connection between pot and burner is okay but the burner part is wobbly when fitted to gas canister ( this is not between the canister and stove it’s on the stove part). You need to buy a separate hanging kit to hang the stove to a tree, the pot support is better and the control of the valve is better so can be used for cooking. I like your review and have never seen your version of the stove. Thanks.

I have the 1st iteration of the Primus Lite Plus and have owned it for many years, at that point it had a different name, but that doesn’t matter too much. I used it many times and nothing has broken or got old, the lighter works 1st time every time, but as you say it is just for heating water, and for a lightweight burner for solo adventures it’s far too heavy - I now use the Soto Windmaster for solo adventures and for that purpose it is far superior.

I have had a Jetboil for 15 years now but the hours of use I put on it is few and probably like 15 weeks for you. It has the same problem with the piezo lighter and has had so on and of not from new but after a few seasons. The store I bought it from showed me that the pin has to have a quite big distance from the metal so the spark has to go a bit longer distance. It then works better. I have had to bend the pin out quite often to get it to work. But now it is game ower probably due to all the bending.

I’ll stick to a heavy msr universal, it covers everything. For light weight a pocket rocket or similar but you’re stuck with canisters. For sure I don’t like to have special pots that won’t work as you mentioned on a campfire. Even with the screws you’re bringing an extra pot so defeats the weight saving

The ways of Primus marketing division ar unknown. And it's not the first product "less expensive" version product they sell, that lacks obvious features, like Moja stove, that lacks piezo ignition, but like with Kinjia stove both have groves cut in stainless steel plates for it. But if the Moja has place for improvement (piezo ignition ready) and it count's as "less expensive" I afraid to imagine the price of Tupike analogy for that stove... On Lite line stoves: My piezo ignition on Lite+ for some reason works fine for now... Maybe because I haven't used it that often. I have an older version with plastic knob. Also the Lite+ design had some weird design of the strap, that I burned and melted the dangling end of on the first firing the stove, and I it was hooked the way it came, but if I wanted the end not get melted I had to hook it other way. I even don't understand why this dangling strap end was there - maybe to protect my fingers from touching the metal G-Clip? Also the lid on Lite+ doesn't hold as well.

Pretty much it is a knockoff of jetboil. Personally I stick to an alcohol stove (trangia), gasifier/flatpack wood stove, and multifuel. I don't like single use gas canisters, as they are becoming a real problem for national parks, trails etc. People throw them into the garbage and they explode when compacted by the garbage company, they just get left out in the wilderness, and few areas recycle them either. They should be banned, and the companies need to make refillable models. Appreciate the review

Thanks for the video. I have both the Lite and the Lite+. I tend to use the regular one most, and only to heat up water (so I dont miss the screws). Very good review also. The only extra thing worth demonstrating is that the cozy can be removed easily (it has a wide velcro strip) if you want to wash the pot. I agree that the piezo could be better but it usually works in 2-5 attempts for me. As you point out, it would be sooooo convenient if the burner and gas canister could be stored attached inside it. (Preferably by making the burner shorter). True, it takes just a second to disassemble it and flip the burner to make it fit, but I am VERY lazy. Still, it is my favorite stove when hiking in the swedish mountains and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. EDIT: Oooo, I just checked! With the Lite+ version, I actually CAN store the burner with the canister attached inside the pot (thanks to the different lid).

Recently bought - and disappointed by (1) Handle - which is too large and insufficiently rigid making it dangerous to use for pouring. The pot itself is too large for my partner to grip fully without a handle, so this is a significant drawback. Also, the metal clip at the base of the handle gets hot when the stove is in use. (2) Less significant but annoying, the stove base feet do not sit square in the pot when stowed for packing - so cannot be stored inside the pot if also storing a gas canister in there. Feels like Primus has rushed this t market with insufficient testing.
