Nice to see you have a channel here! Thanks for the canoe rental, really nice trip! Some longer canoe trip video series would be cool. Or we test packraft one day together 😉🌲

Thanks for the video/hacks Matti! Looking forward to the review on the Thermacell. Seen to 4. Location then I suggest Skåne, almost no mosquitoes this year ;-)

In Belarus we a have a couple of perfumes which work very well against mosquitoes and horseflies. I would never believe how good it works if i hadn't seen the results by my own eyes!))))

Two remarks: some clothing (pants) have stretch inserts. In my experience the bugs bite through those. Second: for really really bad regions get a bug shirt. There is one made in Ontario Canada, which was for me so far the worst place ever regarding bugs. It is made of light non-bite-through fabric, has some tight woven mosquito proof webbing under the arms for better breathability and most importantly a hood which can be entirely closed with bug proof webbing. You are basically dressed like a bee keeper! It packs quite compact into its own front pocket. Highly recommended, should be combined with some cap inside the hood to keep the webbing away from the face.

Hi Matti, interesting and informative as always. With regard to the chemical products perhaps I could make a suggestion? "Mosi-Guard natural." It is plant based, totally deet free and dermatology tested. I don't know if it's readily available where you live but I've found it very effective.

Antihistaminer tar jag i ett par veckor innan jag beger mig ute där det finns extrema mängder mygg! Får knappt några vet som känns då! En annan bra sak är Beckolja, bästa myggmedlet..

I don’t know about mosquitoes, but for midges eating raw garlic (or other strongly flavoured food) for several days before going camping is supposed to discourage them. (It might discourage human contact too!)

When I was hiking in Sweden this summer I put my waterproofs on when around camp. Mosquitos can’t bite through them. Not so good though if you have a fire due to risk of burn holes. Would be interesting if anyone knows of a hoody for hiking that is thick enough to stop the mosquitos , but thin enough not be too hot. Thanks for tips.

I know this video is old, but: please try out products that contain 20% Icaridin / Picaridin. It is as effective as DEET, but much less nasty for yourself & your clothes/gear. It is the only chemical I use nowadays, and it works.

Thermacell does not work. I had no relief when using it. I think it was a bad sign when I arrived in Finnmark and I believe I could hear the mosquitos cheering as I got out of the plane last summer. When I left, it looked like I was shot by a shotgun.
