Can't help but thinking that Wout would have at least two stages in this tour by now if he didn't keep getting chopped in the sprints. But you can't win on "what if". Look i'm biased here cause Van Aert is one of my favorite rider but I'm also French so I like Démarre. It's not the first time he does that sort of thing in sprints. I get it, mistakes happen and they all do it. It's just that some riders do it more often, Démarre is one of them. He realky needs to focus on that.

He had plenty of time to practice (as it is not his first race) and he is still doing it... I'm hoping for another French victory but I'm unsure Demare has it in him. MVDP will not be missing every day, so he'll have to beat Bini, Philipsen, Wout, Cav, etc. It would be cool to see him win one last time on the Tour, but between 3 and 5 seem to be his real level against the other riders.

@@Fudgeis1337 Cav was on Bini's wheel and could have followed him past McLay, plus it looked like there was even enough room between Bini and McLay for him to squeeze through. He didn't have many options because he mistimed his move, then to save himself, he almost took Coquard out. If he waited a half second longer in Bini's wheel, he would've had a shot at winning. The left + left moves took him so wide he was next to Philipsen briefly. Also just seconds before that, when Teunissan was moving Bini up the left barriers, Cav had already swung from outside to inside then outside right into Bini like he was drunk.

@@andretim75 The quote is not exact. It was made during the Criterium du Dauphine. And now Horner's words are confirmed. Roglic didn't look up to see what other riders in front of him were doing, and he could not judge what the situation would be in a few seconds. Horner was right to say this. Roglic relies on his physique, not on his technique or vision (that's why I like him, he is different, he is an athlete).

Horner's explanation was not very good but it involves lack of predicting/reacting-to upcoming situations. It is clear some riders are good at split second avoidance and it is also clear Primoz isn't. If there was ever a time to be on high alert it was going around a center barrier.

The guy has NO situational awareness and incredibly poor bike handling instincts. Roglic and Bora has beenunlucky. But if you are unlucky all the time with crashes, then its no longer just bad luck. Their positioning in the peleton is really bad. What were they doing that far down? No break away on a sprint stage. With 5k to go you will be safe. There is no reason to why your team is not in front. Visma and UAE were up there. Unlucky it happend, but bad planning caused it to hit them. They are obviously missing a "bouncer" type to keep Roglic safe.
