Other
The manufacture of a stone axe including the handle from using only primitive tools and materials. It is a celt (pronounced "salt") a type of axe with a polished stone head wedged into a hole or mortise at the end of a wooden handle (not to be confused with a "Kelt" referring to a Celtic person). The head took about a week and a day to make as I chose to make it from a particularly large piece of basalt. The hammer stone used to shape the basalt was of quartz. This involved hammering, pecking, grinding, and polishing the head into the final shape. The handle took a day and a morning to make. A chisel was made from stone and a mallet made from a log. These were used to cut the tree for the handle and shape it once down. The fire was used to harden the wood and also to help shape the mortise. The axe was then used to cut down a tree the day after the handle was a tree itself. It is a more efficient tool for felling trees than the hand axe I made and at the time of uploading this video has cut down 4 trees which I will use later. Because this stone axe is blunter than a steel one, the blade needs to hit the tree at angles greater than 45 degrees- otherwise, the blade would glance off. So celts were used more like wedges than modern axes.

    This is facts, and I know firsthand. I was one of the quiet kids in elementary school in 5th and i made a bow and arrow using a large stick some rocks and a plant fiber rope. It used normal sticks as arrows cuz i couldnt figure out how to split the sticks i had in a way that allowed me to fit a stone in between the fibers of the wood. My teacher was sure confused when she saw sticks getting hurled 20 meters 😂

    @@S.G.A.R.C.O It's not really that simple. Language is constantly evolving to become more and less complex. Mandarin, for example, really is that simple. The grammar basically break down to that very simple form of "Pig eat scrap," "Barbarian attack us," and "I play toy." But to some people, like us English speakers, it's unclear exactly what you mean. Do you mean "Barbarians are attacking us" or "Barbarians attack us sometimes?" Different languages just have different logic systems using LOTS of (or little) context clues to figure out what someone means. Some languages avoid using context clues as much as possible. As long as a language is internally consistent & understandable to listeners, it's fine. English uses a lot less context clues than something like Japanese, which usually leaves out subjects in language altogether. Point is, it doesn't really matter. Every language is fine in its own way because people's mindsets evolve around their languages to understand what someone means.

  • @guacre2675

    @guacre2675

    Жыл бұрын

    Also, we really don't know that language was much simpler in the past. In fact, there's no evidence for that at all because Indo-Europeans (and Homo Erectus, if you go back far enough) didn't write anything down. Language oftentimes becomes MORE simple as time goes on under certain circumstances, like cross-cultural contact.

    Fun fact Some time in ancient history certain weapons and armour were created from bones Example Pufferfish helmet Basically Pufferfish skeleton dried up and turned into a spiked helm And a shark tooth sword! Primitive people on islands hunts sharks not only for the meat but also for their skulls and teeth to be tied into the edge of a paddle like sword which can either break bones under armour due to the sheer weight or cut through flesh. causing bleeding due to the teeth being serrated Also there's some ancient evidence that bone knives,spears, and arrows were created and used by primitive people
