Primitive Burden Basket for Agave Harvest
Primitive tribes often travelled long distances to acquire food and materials in different regions. They would travel to harvest acorns. They would travel to hunt. They would travel to trade. In those days the vehicle was the feet and the motor was the heart. Obviously a person can't carry much with only their hands so these creative people made burden baskets to allow them to travel and carry loads on their backs. A burden basket is basically just a primitive backpack.
In this video I use a burden basket that I recently made to harvest desert agave leaves for both food and useful materials

@@ChadZuberAdventures there is a short vid about tumplines in carrying logs to build the Chaco Canyon site: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nIqcsdiuqrjReZM.html I'd comb-out Rufo and collect and clean the fur and make a sweat pad for the forehead, cordage is a little rough under pressure on skin and sweat might make it stretch unevenly. Just an idea.

If you bite around the last part of the green before the tip of the needle, you can pull the needle towards you and you get needle with thread on it. When I fixed my jeans with it it holds longer than 4 year even after hundred time washing machine
@ChadZuberAdventures
Thanks for sharing that tip. I’ve pulled threads from agave by accident. That’s a good idea for a needle and thread. Agave fibers are very strong.
I looked up the "heath benefits of desert agave" this is worth looking up there's lots more information on this plant and it's health beifits... Agave or century plant is found in desert areas of Mexico and the US. It requires less maintenance as it is a drought-tolerant succulent. For years, Native Americans have utilized the plant for culinary purposes. The plant has high sugar content which makes it great for preparing tequila. Agave fruit, roots, and sap, everything is used for making medicine. Its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties is helpful for healing wounds, skin irritation, and burns. Besides that, it has some excellent health benefits. Lowers Cholesterol Levels, Boosts Metabolism, Improves Heart Health and more.... Thanks for sharing your journey with us. ♥

Yes, agave is very useful both as a food and a medicine. I actually baked some leaves yesterday to eat. The leaves aren't sweet. They are a little bitter but closer to the center of the plant they become a little sweet. The center of the plant is where the sweet nectar is to be found.

@ChadZuberAdventures
Jajajaja!
