I would love 2 see that game with 2-dimensional but digitally rendered backgrounds, and also 3D rendered playable characters! That would be saw awesome would love 2 see a throw down between Fulgore and Armadon! Or Riptor vs Talon!

I think they should've just kept animals & other unknown species in this video game... no humans.

The humans are the dino gods. If you look closely the humans resemble the creature that is above them.

@@AwesomeAceZ Actually, according to the lore, that's not quite true. They're Avatars, meaning that their ideals and such don't need to align with the gods, they use their powers. Some endings even have them go directly against them. It's quite interesting actually.

Unfortunately the game data collected from the first game revealed that the vast majority of players only picked Blizzard and Chaos when playing. This told the developers that players were more interested in using characters with basic movements like punches and kicks rather than bites and tail whips. So they added in the human characters because why spend all that time and effort on monster characters in nobody picks them? they still left the old ones in and added two more.

Man, you've done some good work here. I really hope raydude make another video of Primal Rage 2 using some of the dinosaur gods. Maybe you should send him this video showing how to select them?

This game would not have had the same charm as the first game mainly do to the fact the new characters where all human or human-ish.

John Case Totally agreed. That was the whole point of Primal Rage! It was a kaiju fighting game. Taking that away from it just turns it into a stupid MK/KI clone.

@@XinBiDe With a little polish and a more fleshed out story it could have been a classic like the Bloody Roar series. Switching between the Dino and the Avatar is a neat way of giving each character 2 fighting styles to combo between, this is something that would be done again years later with Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.

If you anyone wants to learn more about Primal Rage 2, then the video I just made is the thing for you. It'll answer a lot of questions you might have and I also put in a ton of pictures of Primal Rage 2 in action that I found while searching the net. Take a look, you won't regret it.

I'm so glad they didn't release this game. giant humans that are really the dinosaurs in human form? it should all be about the dinos they would have messed the storyline right up with this

Actually its human who were Gift powers from their gods making them Avatars to save Urth from Necrosan because Necrosan sealed the gods up. Its a cool way to add more play styles without running out of monsters to use Granted they could added a few more monster. Anyway I do think its pretty interesting plus fun fact one of the gods Chaos was original a human scientist who became that way cause he tried to use Blizzard DNA to make him live forever and he makes a Deal with a god we don't see in the series to get his original form back. So in one case there is a god with a human form

Why is Talon a chick when not in the Dino/god avatar? Makes sense that Vertigo is because she has always been a dino-serpent-beast-thingy goddess of some sort.

The avatars or the humans are not the dino gods but are people chosen to represent them in their battle against Necrosan. Atari made Talon choose a female probably to increase the number of female characters in the game even though Talon is a guy.

If you read the book Primal Rage: The Avatars by John Vornholt, it's explained that Necrosan's forces ravaged Keena's village and that she found Talon in a wounded state . Suddenly she uncovered that she had a link to Talon telepathically and he makes her his shaman.

What do the statues on the top of the Dino-Gods represent? The Avatars by themselves?

They're "Meta" avatars, secret versions of the avatars that if you switch into dino-god form, instead of a combo, it will stay like that until you transform again.

da game looks good with da dinos and apes on it. its still stupid though, dat u have 2 do codes to unlock them. people dat first see this game and not know da codes, will tire of it quickly, cuz all u see is da humans characters less sumone unlocks them/knows da code 2 do so.

I think you mean a rom there is a rom that was made long ago but no one who works in mame has made it to function correctly and it crashes upon starting a game. (The rom I am talking about is used in the video) and can be found in the website emuparadise

And with this game I find that Talon is actually a female.

Well I downloaded the rom at Emuparadise so go there and search primal rage 2 in the search bar. The problem is that it crashes upon starting a game so it doesn't work.

When its done..port it to the Jag...

WHERE IS THE FUCKING BOOK

You know, this was probably why the game was cancelled. Playtesters would boot up the game and see only humans, not knowing the secret to selecting the dinosaurs.

Come to think of it, since Talon is male and his avatar is a female and the fact I've seen the human can become the creatures during battle. Keema to Talon could have been possibly the very first Transgender in a videogame. Sorry, not sorry.
