In this video I look at a figurine I made a few years ago that featured some corroded brass effects.

Such a striking piece. The metal tube protruding from his chest takes it to another level. Love the patina and the continued corrosion.

Thanks Chris. I think I'd originally intended him to a cyborg or something like that, which is why that's there. The idea evolved as I worked on it!
I think this should be another genre, like Rustpunk, where everything is dripping and gross and rusted or moldy. Kinda HR Giger meets BioShock. Gross post apocalyptic in sewers, alien human farms, underground cities infested with frogs and rats. Yeah, this looks like your universe.

Hah, rustpunk sounds awesome! I like the idea :)
amazing how the streams down the cheeks leading from the eyes add so much anguish and emotion. very powerful.

I should've totally called it that!
Really striking and beautiful work. Even for an old piece the sculpting is really nice! I've never heard of that technique with the patination fluid! Such a vibrant eye catching result

Thanks very much Kamm. At some point I will make a brass mech and then corrode it! ;)
Really nice. I love, that you always continue the face under the masks.

With the steel, it has a great look. Too bad it's so delicate.🥺

Thanks for watching!
cool
A wonderfully inspiring piece. I prefer faking the corrosion in my work [its easier compared to the genuine process, tho' I admit nothing like as rewarding] But, if I may, I shall take screen shots of your corrosion to help further my 'fakery'. p.s. I've left Crystalcal R [plaster] casts out in the rain/elements and that produces a very satisfying, pitted effect...in time, that is.

Thanks very much. Yes of course. Yeah I must admit you do sometimes need to embellish the patina with abit of paint here and there. It can sometimes come out a little dull. I didn't for this one, but I have for others.
Incredible work. Is there a Brom influence ??

Thanks! I was mostly thinking of lord of the rings and hellraiser when I was making it, but I know Brom so that's probably mixed in there too.
