Pricing Window Cleaning Work

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Quoting window cleaning work can be a challenging task, especially for those new to the industry. It's essential to ensure that you provide a fair and accurate quote that reflects the time, effort, and materials required to complete the job to a high standard. In this video, we'll be discussing some tips and best practices for quoting window cleaning work.
Firstly, it's crucial to assess the scope of the job before providing a quote. This involves taking into account factors such as the number of windows, their size and accessibility, the level of dirt and grime, and any additional services required, such as cleaning frames and sills.
Once you have a clear understanding of the job's requirements, you can then calculate the time and effort required to complete the work. It's important to be realistic and factor in any potential challenges, such as difficult-to-reach windows, as well as any equipment and materials needed, such as ladders, cleaning solutions, and squeegees.
Another important consideration when quoting window cleaning work is the pricing strategy you'll use. Some window cleaners charge by the hour, while others charge by the window or by the job. It's important to choose a pricing strategy that works for you and reflects the value you provide to your customers.
Lastly, it's essential to communicate clearly with your customers and provide a detailed breakdown of the quote. This includes outlining the services you'll provide, the pricing strategy used, any additional fees or charges, and the expected timeframe for completion.
By following these tips and best practices, you can provide fair and accurate quotes for window cleaning work that reflect your expertise and value as a professional window cleaner.

    Hi Chris. I'm in the US and I tend to count windows but also have a minimum charge too. I had this one house that I was originally quoting for just cleaning all of the concrete and threw in a price for the windows also. 132 window panes. That's windows, doors, sliding patio doors, etc. Nice big windows. I priced $4.00 each, exterior only, all to be done with my WFP. $528.00 for 3 hours work. I did all the concrete work one day and went back for the windows the next. I'm just a "one man band" too. Route work and "per job" pricing can be all over the map. Only experience will teach you pricing but it's nice to have a "ground floor" price to start with. Informative video for all. Thanks again Chris.

    Sound advice, I'm in Southern Spain, ive had new clients say, oh my cleaner can do everything exept those up there, i say sorry, if you don't want me to clean everything then i can't help you, most of my jobs are high end jobs, all traditional and 90% inside and out, lots of big glass in today's moder glass box house, along with glass curtains which are frameless glass used on terraces, and now the latest craze are glass ballastrades so once again both sides cleaned, and i advice them every 4 weeks, which for Coast property and golf side properties are absolutely needed.

    I hear you, in my first window cleaning business I used to try and guesstimate time, but I found my ‘optimism’, or ‘best case scenario time cost’ Used to make me underprice jobs. It’s a flaw in my personality more than a criticism of your method. This time around I charge £1.50 for an upstairs window and £1 for a downstairs and it adds a bit of consistency to my work now. Still it’s horses for courses, not saying I’m right and I do have a minimum charge like you. It works for me anyway

    You do which ever method serves you best. I've seen guys do quite well counting windows, others having time based etc. You have to look at work I'm your area and put the best method you feel to work, especially in areas like mine where property sized differ so dramatically.

    Really good point Chris, I'm looking at starting up on weekends alongside my full time job whilst I try to gather enough work to leave that and go full time. I was concerned about pricing structure but that video has certainly helped. One question you mentioned that a conservatory puts £3 on top but that doesn't include the roof, after the first deep clean has been carried out (I believe you stated £80) what price would you charge for a maintenance clean on a conservatory roof? Thanks Kevin.

  • @ChrisAddis

    @ChrisAddis

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you remember in the video the £80 first clean on the conny roof, followed by a price of around £30 per 4 weekly thereafter (full house and conny roof)....but if its small around £8-£10 addition ish...use your discretion but don't be afraid to charge well. I'd rather overcharge than undercharge

    @@deckhardhunt5089 😄 fair one. I think we are flexible in the sense that prices are set at a minimum, the customer can decide how many of the sides of the house get done... but I think you've got to decide the best system that works for you. But when it comes down to deciding which windows to do and leave, and then a certain section of customer that decide they only want 2 windows doing on the tops and expect you to do it for 2 or 3 quid...you have to ask yourself are you jumping over bigger opportunities, to service under priced work..? If you're starting out you can probably get away with offering that kind of service, but as you get busier and take on more work and then have people working for you etc...its VERY hard to maintain that level of flexibility and I just got to the point where it became easier to set a system of minimum charges and let the customer decide whether that fee was worth paying. As you say mate, each to their own
