Amazing video Dr. Lori! I love the history on quilts. I actually inherited one that was supposedly my great grandmother’s, have to verify with family if indeed it was hers. It has several different patches on it, but the stitching or thread seems to be falling apart on some of the patches, don’t know if it’s worth getting it fixed or just leaving it alone. Thank you for continuing to share your knowledge and expertise!😊❤️

Have you seen my videos where I help connect the ancestry dots for a family using an heirloom? As far as repairs, I always suggest you find out the value of an item first for a couple of reasons. One, you might not want to spend more money to fix something than it's worth. Two, if you do get it repaired, you want to know its value for insurance reasons. Some repairs don't go well so you want proof of value before any damage might happen. Third, you want proof of the piece's condition and value just in case of a fire, theft, etc. at the repair shop.

Do you want the person who will take care of it and only pay you a $1 or the person who will take care of it and pay you what it is really worth? Get an online appraisal report from me. People use them to help them sell their pieces all the time. The reports show a location where a similar piece actually sold and for how much. One person used the report to sell a plate for $1,000. They only paid $1 for it at a yard sale.

I love binge watching your channel and have learned a lot. I missed you in Mn, earlier this month on the 2nd due to the times. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but "The Crazy Lamp Lady" was speaking bad about your name a couple of weeks ago. She was questioning your educated advice and pricing, even though i know for a fact that she learned a lot from you as well because i watch your channel and i watch her channel and i know she used some of your educated knowledge on quite a few items she found at the thrift, that you have appraised before. My opinion is that she got a big head after her channel blew up over the last year and she has been making quite a few enemies on KZread. I've learned from watching her grow on her channel that she isn't a very nice person but knows how to cover up her tracks in editing. Idc, i love you and your channel and i would rather know the facts. In one of her videos her boyfriend referenced his ex wife being a pig & and in another video she said she would price something and get what she asked for because the item is coming from her. A lot of people do feed into her B.S but i don't. If i wasn't looking for a certain item i've been searching for, for years, i wouldn't even continue to watch her channel. Her and her boyfriend disgust me. Very rude people when things don't go their way. The Crazy Lamp Lady even publicly went after an entire thrift store that donate their profits to the community because they stopped allowing people to shoot video inside the store. Shameless woman she is.

My opinion is that without Sue, i don't think her channel would've blew up. I can tell she uses that poor lady to do alot of her fighting and arguing on KZread for her, when things do not go her way and she seems to be using it against Sue, in her earlier videos that she needs to provide for her children as to gain sympathy from Sue. Now that she makes $22,000 a month, Sue is no longer needed. Alls i can say is "Videos don't lie"
