Price Is Right 1981 Bob Barker Eps 4094D Without TC

I am called at :30 minutes to play the Grocery Game This was my second visit to the CBS studio to try and get on. I had appeared on Wheel of Fortune in 1977 and Hollywood Squares in 1978.

I grew up in the 90s and watched Bob in that era, but im surprised at how much the 81' era was kept all way into the mid 2000s. Almost everything never changed.

This lit me up. 😄 I've been in TV production for about a decade, so I love behind-the-scenes bits, especially a look at the title card before chromakey (right at 00:00, keyed and revealed at 01:18). The chaser lights are nearby also, because you can see the shadows.

Wow, it's so bizarre to see an episode with SO many things that would later be banned by Bob. We have: 1) A foreign car 2) Cowhide rugs 3) A supply of bacon 4) An aquarium with live fish in it 5) A supply of fried chicken, and 6) A fur coat

Bob did allow episodes of TPIR to be rerun on GSN with foreign cars, as well as episodes with KFC and other meat products did rerun on GSN. Only fur coat episodes were not allowed to be rerun back then.

Speaking of the funny game show that Bob used to do April 24th 1982 he was in Buffalo at Memorial Auditorium I was at that funny game show he walked up and down in the audience with a wireless mic he was probably six feet from us when he was walking picking contestants like a Truth or Consequences kind of game show it was very fun to see the things that people had to do to get gifts that night I was not a contestant however that was the only time I had the chance to see Bob Barker in person and it happened to be my birthday what a birthday present was to me didn't meet him though

I can't thank you enough for posting this! It's the earliest episode of The Price Is Right (and probably anything else) I remember. I was three years old and went around the house the rest of the day pushing a plastic wheelbarrow and carrying on about the Golden Road. I mainly remember Robin, her red blouse, and the outcome of the showcase. There's no way I ever could have found which episode, and it certainly wasn't going to be rerun with the rugs and the coat. You probably won the best prize of the day: a dining group worth $4308 in 1981‽ I hope it was as nice as it looked. You couldn't have played any better, and I thank you again for sharing it with us. You made my day.
