HUGE THANKS TO JAMES SHEA FOR UNEARTHING THIS GEM!
Janice tells Bob Punch-a-Bunch is one of her favorite games, and she's been waiting so badly to play. Bob gives her a chance to punch a hole, and you won't believe the result!

I used to watch this when I was home sick from school. There was something comforting about it. My mom would bring me soup and I would watch The Price Is Right.

And some 7 Up
No host can host the Price is Right like Bob. All others are immitations.
The record tying show for the longest running daytime game show on CBS.
I love how I instantly recognized a young Bryan Cranston's voice in the Children's Tylenol commercial, despite never having seen it before.
Love how you included the actual advertisements from that time period. Makes me feel like I was back in '87. Locked on and watching from Trinidad and Tobago 💯💥💫
Watching this has me in awe of how incredibly cheap stuff used to be. Just imagine being able to buy a brand new car for only $8,000.😲

Yeah those good ole times when ur pay was 350$ a month. U are a fool.

And yet a lot of the furniture and appliances cost almost as much as a lot of what you can buy now, 35 years later...of course the difference was you wouldn't replace it as often.

@@de-fault_de-fault Appliances were definitely made of much higher quality back then. My grandmother's house has a stove, dishwasher, and washing machine that she purchased back in the '80s and all three of them still work perfectly fine.

Yeah but at the same time, $8,000 was a lot more money back then and took longer to earn.

@@nyccollin So I just looked it up, and $8,000 in 1987 would be approximately $20,000 in 2023, adjusted for inflation. Which is still a very cheap price for a nice, brand new car compared to new car prices today.
He doesn’t know what he did differently????? Bob, sir the way you swaggered from behind those doors made the crowd go crazy, especially the women!!! 😍😍😍. Your price is right with your stage presence being pure glory. You and your stage swag will be missed good sir!! ❤️

Jan was a hoot… she was great! And so pretty too!
2 days before I was born. I turn 37 in March.

I love it 🥰 especially Diane she’s really wonderful beautiful gal especially when her hairstyle 💁♀️ during 1988-1989 especially various outfits, dress 👗 and high heels 👠. Jennydebrier
My mom was just about as pregnant as Kathleen was at this time in history.
29:22 OMG this was right when the Heidnik 'house of horrors' was discovered.
I love it 🥰 especially when Jan, Holly, Kyle and Diane workout 🏋️♂️ especially leotards, tights and leggings/ leg warmers. I remembered Rachel and other Price Is Right models were sneakers 👟, and fun colorful workout 🏋️♀️ clothes.
What was the idea of playing along the showcase showdown? The chances to win were slim. Anyway RIP Bob Barker.
Deborah did great on getting $5,000.00.😀👍
my first year on earth i watch this as a baby in the play pen my first exposure to bob and rod
If you’re wearing a military uniform, your chances of getting picked are like doubled lol

He was a soar loser too. He that washer and dryer cost way more than that lawnmower. He didn’t want those items
Vicki Lawrence's 38th birthday.

That was the most commonly used baby sound clip throughout the 80's (maybe sometime before and after too). In about 1995 I got a CD called 100 Spectacular Sound Effects or something like that (I was a wannabe DJ, lol). It had all kinds of animals, thunder, car crashes, a variety of 'boing's, you name it. And of course it had some baby sounds including this one.
Aired one day after my dad's 48th birthday when we lived in New Jersey (WCBS Ch 2 area)
4:52 - Bad news for Floyd when he chose the lawnmower! It's the plank he goes, matey!
The next day March 27th it became the longest-running daytime game show
I DARE Dobkowitz to "MRRRP" Bobby when he misses his putt....😆😆😆
If it wasn’t for Barker’s Bargain Bar, the count would have been 0 for 6.

Actually, that $5,000 win in Punch-a-Bunch counts as a win! So, it was two out of six wins in those pricing games in that show!
35:16 I was always amused by ads that claimed a customer liked their product so much they wrote in to the company to say so. I doubt I've seen an ad with this format in twenty years, but they were common in the 80s and 90s
Floyd can hardly contain his over enthusiastic happiness of winning the showcase showdown.
Bienvenue a price is right
Wish it was 1987 again
18:24 That "or Two" addition to the classic Hole in One sign didn't last long if I recall correctly.

Did Bob say Teague, TX? Regarding the Play Along viewer, I would say KDFW channel 4 at the time.
I remember Bob used to say are you single would you like too meet Barker's beauties...all men would say OH YEAHHHH
The first contestant knew that washer and drawer was way more than $552. Men should know how much lawnmowers cost. He didn’t want to win those items. It’s unfortunate because everybody would love to be on the Price is right and wins free prize and money.
That lady and Janice had Bryan like luck by getting both $5000 and $10000.
19:52 fitting as it is currently like half past 2 am
Can we get Meat Canyon in here? 27:00
12:01 Gee I wonder why anorexia was so common in the 80's. Imagine pretty ladies on TV shaming you for consuming SIX calories. 😲
The catty attitude Janice has towards Holly has never been more present. Janice sounds like she smokes 2 packs a day.
